  We have tested with iPhone 8 MAX with a case on - it holds well. Obviously if the case is too thick on an already large phone like iPhone 8 Max, it might be harder to hold the phone properly.

    I guess i meant its charging capabilities through the case….I've got a galaxy note 9…. so not a 'massive' phone or very heavy. It might do the job.

I have one of these. It works for iPhone X,11,12. But the sides don’t close to well all the time. Sometimes you may need to squeeze a bit.
