Suggestion for A Good Single Electric Wall Oven under $1000

Hi there,

We are a family of 3 and wanting to replace an ancient wall oven. I am on the fence for Westinghouse brand at the moment as they appear to tick all the boxes,

Price $815

Anyone here Electric Oven experts suggests to me if there is a better brand or model around the same price range? I got to shell out another $100-$150 for installing this. So hoping I can get the new oven under $1000.

I got this one for $790 at Good Guys around boxing day. Not sure if it's good yet since not installed but I've kind of thought of Electrolux as a premium brand hence the purchase.

    • I have had some bad experience with Electrolux brand in a washing machine so excluding that brand. I thought of Bosch at first but it is so freaking expensive.

Electrolux and Westinghouse and Simpson have been the same company for years now. If you look at them they are probably the same oven on the inside, just the front display's are different and therefore the features are slightly different. Both have 8 functions.

I would go for the Westighouse as it has the air fryer insert.

If you like Bosch then https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/bosch-hbf133bs0a… doesn't seem bad.

I've had a bad experience with Electrolux as well - if you don't like the brand then Westinghouse is a no-go given it is made by Electrolux. https://www.westinghouse.com.au/support/about-westinghouse/

The air fry function in your linked oven is also a try on…an air fryer is very much like a mini oven, I have one and use it when I don't want to use the big oven.

    • Wow didn't know that. Thanks!

About the Bosch. I initially thought of going with that but we do not use the oven regularly. Just for some grilling and baking once in a week sorts. So wanted to go with a less expensive one. Bosch seems good but the link you have shared is a Serie 2 with less capacity than the Westinghouse. I think for a $100 more you can get a Serie 4 which is much better than Serie 2. My rationale was to go with a less expensie brand but get premium features and considering my usage style, Westinghouse seemed reasonable. It had pretty good reviews online

Recently got one of the Ikea ovens - I think Kulinarisk with Steam function at just under a grand. Great oven (the Ikea ovens are Euro brand made at a fraction of the price). The Steam regeneration setting has meant we've gotten rid of our microwave without missing it at all - food tastes so much better out of the steam oven.
There are ones under a grand within your budget also with the steam or pyro functions also.

The sparky shouldnt charge you more than $100 - our one did the wiring for $50 as he was in the area

    • Isn't Electrolux/Westinghouse better than Euro brand? :)

      • I think they mostly are whirlpool and electrolux actually. Regardless the missus loves ours

  • This ovens temp knob is horrid to use. Such a tiny gap for the temps between 160-200, and they are on the bottom of the knob, so you have to bend down to set the right temp!

Get the model up with the digital temp display
