Safe to Sell Giftcard Online ?

I tried selling on gumtree and advertised as COD only but some guy msg from other state wanted it and did the infamous fake bank transfer screenshot thingy, provided with photo ID somemore.
I didn't fall for it as i insists on waiting for funds to clear.

So, just wonder as a seller, as long as funds cleared into bank , there is no risk on selling physical gift card online right ?

I know the best way is COD only or just sell it to voucha, but it seems plenty sold them on classifieds, didn't see much of a problem/hassle ?

    Once cash is in the bank you're probably ok. Never take Paypal though! Or accept a screenshot confirming payment.
