The Lenovo Yoga laptop is under 1kg and made of carbon fibre and metal alloy. It has taller display for a 13 inch with 16:10 aspect ratio. Other specs worth mentioning are 300 nits brightness, 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos.

    You'd struggle to find a 16:10 QHD screen for less than this.

    A plastic made laptop will cost between $900-1000 with similar specs. Its display may not be as good as this though.

      Thanks for the research. Both are a bit heavier 1.6 and 1.5 kg. Seems that the idea pad is plastic. Can't find it on the dell. For weight and durability, the OP might be a goer. Wonder if you can upgrade the storage?
