$1 Worth of IKBR Share for Every $100 Maintained in Account for 1 Year (up to $1000 Worth of Shares) @ Interactive Brokers

Interactive Brokers Australia has referral program for their shares (or options, futures, currencies, bonds and funds) trading platform. It's a good broker, especially if you want to trade US/other market (or you want 1 integrated platform). If you only trade ASX, this is probably not for you, as there are many similar competitive brokers already.

It's very hard to get, but if you have any intention to open an account anyway, may as well. Not worth it to open an account just for the referral purpose, as their paperwork is rather tedious and you need to maintain the balance (your deposit amount that getting bonus) for the full 1 year. Their interface is not for beginner neither, if you only want something simple, as their market is for more advanced traders.

Here is a copy paste from their website:
Referred accounts will receive $1 in IBKR shares for every $100 of value (cash or other assets) added to their account for up to $1000 worth of IBKR shares. The average balance must be maintained for at least 1 year for the shares to vest and be accessible.

Note:
If moderator read this, there's already 1 referral pool but linked to interactivebrokers.com. It's the same referral link for any countries so maybe link it to the AU site too?

Mod update: The referral pool has been transferred to the Australian domain interactivebrokers.com.au.

    Your deal title is a tad misleading - it's not 1 free share (which to the layperson I'd take as meaning one single/whole unit of IKBR) is rather $USD1 worth of IKBR shares, so around 1/75th of a share, at current market prices. Very big difference.

    While you state this via quote in the body of your deal you might wish to amend the title to more accurately reflect what is actually received upon qualifying.

      This^

      Also, I don't really consider it a deal per se. It's just their ongoing referral program

    • OK, I changed the title, sorry, didn't realize that. Yes, it's their ongoing referral, just posted as some at the other margin loan threads were not aware of the referral.

    Unless it has changed, pretty sure IB is not Chess sponsored. They operate under custodian model meaning they own your shares, not you. Worth knowing about, as in the unlikely event that IB goes under you don't know what will happen to your investments.

  • Used someone's referral as I was intending to sign up anyhow.

    my own referral was of the form
    https://www.interactivebrokers.com/referral/{user}

    rather than https://ibkr.com/referral/{user}
    which is what Ozbargain referral page expected.

    both seem to work correctly.

    First impressions is that it is a step up in terms of difficulty to use but that is because it has way more tools. Not sure I will make use of all the tools available in the short term but I figure they will be there if I ever want them.
