Biondi Pasta: Spaghetti/ Macaroni/ Penne/ Spirals 500g $0.50 Each @ Reject Shop

60

Never heard of this brand but they are Australian made. Pretty good price especially for the macaroni, which usually are $1 (woolies/Aldi etc)

maccheroni from biondi pasta, that’s interesting, but sounds a bit dodgy.

    • I've seen a few Spirals floating at Biondi beach?

  • What is the difference between "maccheroni" and "macaroni" (apart from the spelling)…

    • Well, I had corrected this misspelled variant of Maccheroni. Maccheroni are actually just normal shaped pasta (similar to penne) and the macaroni is a us/aus variant of small pasta.

      • thanks…

      • The name Maccheroni doesnt match the product description on the linked website, but thanks for the info on what Maccheroni is. Now title reads as Macaroni and description reads as Maccheroni.

        • I changed both now. Please note that some brands call it “maccheroni”, for example balducci (they are same size but have “lines” so they are rigati).

  • Curtis James Jackson would be sooo all over this.

  • I saw this brand in the Reject Shop the other day, the graphics on the packets looked so amateur (think W98 translated from another language)) that I assumed it was some kind of el-cheapo parallel import. Was surprised to read it is made here. No wonder it has ended up in the Reject Shop, even if the pasta itself is good.
Presentation and packaging are really vital in retail

    • Do you think all of us ozbargainers should buy them up, repackage and sell for a nice profit?

      • Personally I am more worried about the quality. The cheap coles/woolies packaging isn’t premium either but I just like to buy Australian (or Italian) pasta. Not too bothered about the packaging.

        • Quality is fine. They've had 50 cent pasta for months and it tastes.. like pasta.

Obviously a pasta aficionado can taste the difference but if you're buying Coles/Woolies brand it's a step sideways rather than down.

        • Thats right Fozzie, I was more thinking from the company's point of view. IE the pasta could well be excellent but they let themselves down with he
bad graphics. But hey 50c, so will give it a go

      • Haha sure, why not?
