This one comes with a power head that seems pretty magical. I have carpet. Not sure if I should go with this one or keep waiting for a deal on a Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog PowerLine.

At this price why not dyson or something else. I mean this is godfreys home brand!
FYI Hoover has been around since 1908 and Godfreys was founded in 1931.
So no, Hoover is not Godfreys home brand, but they do have exclusive distribution rights in AU/NZWhatever quality they had went out the window since they became a Godfreys exclusive.
A lot of people think Dysons are over priced and overrated. LG A9 seems to be the crowd favourite in terms of stick backs, but Tineco rates very very highly as well, and that's a Godfrey's brand.
I didn't even know Hoover or Godfreys were still around
The Miele has a air-driven turbo brush, whereas the Hoover has an electric power head.
and?
The Miele has a turbo!!
I find the vibrations that electric power heads create seems to draw the deeper dirt out of carpets, as opposed to just picking up dirt & pet hair off the surface of the carpet.
I saw the Hoover in action at Godfreys and the power head made the sand vibrate and hover above the carpet hence magical. It just does it in one sweep. Reliability is a concern to me as I don't want the Hoover to die right after its two year warranty period. Can't seem to find any reviews for this vacuum. The powerhead wins for sure, but at the expense of having more parts that can fail I guess.
@Tinkle Ass: Sorry, cant comment on the life of Hoover as I’ve only had it for a year and the Miele for two years. I must admit it is extremely satisfying to see the power head draw out so much of the deeper dirt ;)
@TTH88: Which miele do you have?
The hoover comes out on top? What about everyones concern bag vacuums suck better?
@mavis30551: I have the Miele CX1 cat and dog. Not denying that the Miele has very strong suction. The difference is in the power heads. Hoover’s electric vibrational power head seems to get deeper into carpet while Miele’s air-driven power head does a good job with SURFACE dirt/hair.
I am just comparing 2 different bagless models. Bagged vs bagless is a completely different ballgame which I would rather leave to the experts here on Ozbargain :)@mavis30551: Bagged vacuums have less places where the vacuum can leak out resulting in better suction.
The annoying thing is that you need replacement bags. The reusable ones are absolutely disgusting. Absolutely do not recommend reusable bags because you're better off with a bag-less vacuum.
A bag-less vacuum gives me the chance to sift through the contents and look for trinkets lol.
My thinking is that the power head of the bag-less Hoover will make it as effective as a bagged vacuum with a turbo (air-driven) head.@Tinkle Ass: It does sound good but its as expensive as as some of the more expensive bagged miele vacuums everyone swears by so its hard to ustify over that
This is an excellent vacuum cleaner in terms of the quality of job it does. Scores 87% from choice magazine for through clean. Miele c3 models(depending on powerhead used) scores high 70’s up to low 80’s %.
Believe is probably the electric powerhead that is included with the Hoover.
But I would personally never by one these machines because of its reliability and would pick/buy Miele vacuum any day of the week over this machine.
Hoover just does not compare in build quality to Miele and their about the same price. With Miele often being cheaper for better product with greater longevity in terms of how many years a Miele will last.
Ahhh. Time to wait for a deal on a Miele CX1 with a nice head then. Unless they release a new bag less.
Just missed this deal! Our Dyson died and was not a fan at all of it. Plenty of hype and good looking machine, but that's all I can say it had to go for it.
Has anyone had much luck bargaining with the staff at Godfrey's?
Miele for sure
