Hi all,
After an atrocious experience trying to get a Xiaomi 34" ultrawide (and subsequently returning it), I now have $500 in Catch vouchers burning a hole in my pocket. I figured that I'm in need of a MIG welder, and given that most eBay sellers are now also on Catch Marketplace, I'll be able to utilise these vouchers for a welder.
The question is, which one?
I'm a competent stick welder but not yet tried MIG or TIG, so if I can get a welder that does both I'll be able to learn both styles. Having gas and gasless MIG also gives me options to try both out.
A 5kg spool isn't mandatory but I figured a bigger welder is also going to have a better range of features & higher duty cycle etc. Any other features or pitfalls I should be on the lookout for? Industry-standard fitting types?
This one does MIG and TIG for $400, and this Giantz-branded one for $379 is also similar, but I couldn't tell you if I'm better off going to Bunnings instead for their $499 Bossweld one.
I'd go an F-35 over a MIG any day…
