I have two cars under my name (Toyota & Mitsubishi). As my sister has yet bought a car so I lent her my Toyota for temporary uses, however she involved in a car accident and she's at fault. Luckily, both cars do have insurances but different providers RACQ & NRMA, respectively. After paying the excess fee to settle the claim (my Toyota was written off) so I only have the Mitsubishi left with NRMA, do I need to advise NRMA know about the RACQ's claim if I still continue to use and renew the policy with them in the next 3 years? If I don't report the at-fault accident of the Toyota with NRMA, will it affect my future claim of my Mitsubishi with them?

I haven't advised them about the Toyota's accident yet because it may trigger a higher premium for my Mitsubishi.
Use the “Asking for a friend” line…
do I need to advise NRMA know about the RACQ's claim if I still continue to use and renew the policy with them in the next 3 years?
Yes, it'll say that in your pds

Of course, otherwise it would be fraud
So what is he supposed to report?
Just that he had made a claim?when he renews "have you made a claim in the last x years?" - yes
Thought so.
Hi OzBargain asking for an OP
What will happen if they commit fraud?Insurer won't pay out next time for a claim
Good luck if you crash into a Ferrari
no insurer will insure you ever again. there was a post here of something like it.

Nice to meet you Toyota Mitsubishi
Hi hungry, I'm dad.
Had a claim once with budget direct.
I also have a motorcycle so when it was due to renew my policy with swann insurance I told them about the claim and was told it won't impact my rating nor premium with them because the claim was with another insurer. Was this an at fault claim?
Yes
Interesting. Your claim will be recorded in the national insurance database anyway so technically they know about it come premium calculation time.
@MS Paint: That was the reason I called then. I wanted my premium to be recalculated. It hasn't changed and they said not to worry. This was 2 years ago.
You need to advise the NRMA otherwise they may not pay a claim as the PDS states somewhere in it that you need to inform them of anything that will/may affect the insurance and another claim will/may.
do I need to advise NRMA know about the RACQ's claim
Yes. Some insurance companies also ask for a copy of your driving record to see what fines you havent told them about.
You don't have to volunteer information, but you must disclose all relevant information in response to questions you are asked.
If the insurer asks if you have had an 'at fault' claim - do you need to declare it?
You weren't at fault - your sister was…
What did NRMA say?
