Recommendations for a Dryer in a 1br Rental?

First time poster.

I'm in the process of fixing some things in my one bedroom apartment and turning it into a rental (we are moving somewhere else).

The dryer died 6 months ago, and I didn't replace it as I prefer to rack dry everything instead and it seemed like unnecessary work and cost at the time.

Now that I'm going to be renting it out, I have to replace the dryer. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dryer for a 1 bedroom apartment?

Location is Sydney if that's relevant.

Thank you.

      Good recommendation.

Location is Sydney, so should recoup the cost with 2 weeks rent…

  • Hi,

It depends if you think it is more rentable with.

If a Tenant has a Tumble Dryer already, then their Dryer becomes clutter in a 1BR.

If you have the old dryer still, rent it as with. Tell the Agent or Tenant you will replace it
prior to their occupancy (if required).

If the Tenant BYO, then clear your Dryer and job done.

Problem with cheap dryers is they push hot moist air out - which may be okay in a well ventilated garage but not great for a small living space.

The most expensive dryers suck out the moisture into an inbuilt bucket you can pour out into the sink afterwards and they're a lot more energy efficient, too.

    Don't install one.

If the tenant asks, then install one.

Aldi has some on special this week…

Apartments don't have to come with dryers, it's not like an oven. Just don't provide one.

I would recommend a condenser dryer rather than the basic vented one, less likely to cause mould issues

  • Make sure it's a heat pump one to stop mould growing from the damp air of the cheap vented ones. Check out appliances online for cheap dryers on special from time to time.
