That's a ridiculously good value low price for everything, even if had some of the games already to finish off your collection.

  • Seperate keys or all in one? I don't have any of the DLC for Xcom 2 or Chimera Squad and wouldn't mind giving the spares to a family member.

    • +1

      I’m in the same boat.

Edit: Just bought the bundle. It’s an all-in-one key. You cannot split it. It’s still cheaper to buy the bundle than the dlc and Chimera separately.

  • Could not find a slot to input the 5% discount code.

Are you sure? It says "coupons not allowed on this product" under the game in the checkout.

EDIT: Okay, the code definitely doesn't work— I added another random game to my cart to confirm this.

Only played the original 90s X-COM.

How does this modern version compare, if anyone has played the original?

    • +8

The newer versions are much more streamlined. A lot of the detail has been removed. This makes it faster to play but you do lose some of the tactical options. Graphics and gameplay are very good. There are lots of mods that expand and extend the gameplay significantly.

If you liked the originals then you'll like these ones. Exactly how much will depend on how much you miss those little bits of detail that were removed.

There are some other moderns versions like Xenonauts that are much more faithful reproductions.

Cool thanks, might catch a few video reviews.

        This offer is very tempting!

mate I got the new xcom 1 as a PRE ORDER bonus and was like.. oh sure i'll give it a go.

damn free game turned out to be better than the game I ordered ! I was hooked. Highly recommend. It was my GOTY.

I enjoyed both, but the new ones do feel a little too streamlined and limited imo. I go back to the original just to sate my micromanagement craving.

  • These guys are dodgy. Firstly they're wouldn't accept my email provider (gmx.com), they reckon they don't accept their 2FA emails or something. Second, when using paypal I have to put in a paypal protection code send to my email which I never got? I've never had a paypal protection code email before! Oh well, not meant to be.

    • I had the paypal code thing as well , never received it .

    • +1

While I feel for you, they are not dodgy.
If I applied your logic I would have to say JB Hifi are dodgy as they do not accept my e-mail address (I asked and they said, the domain is not on their list and hence gets rejected) so I cannot order anything online or for click and collect.
Sometimes those things happen as technology is not perfect.
Really, we should be mad about the idiots who behave in such a way that make 2FA etc. necessary.

      • I purchased via paypal and had no issues, it did indeed cost me around $16 instead but that could of been a currency thing.

received a steam key straight away.

        • Yeah, paying with PayPal is getting expensive.

          • @Lysander: You can set the currency in PayPal, so let 28degress handle the exchange rate.

            -$15.67 on my 28degress card.

  • Thanks - fantastic deal!

  • Great games, already own em all.

  • The cheapest XCOM 2: War of the Chosen has been being $12.89.
