Hi everyone, recently the glass on my Surface Laptop 3 screen was cracked for some reason. I closed the laptop lid before I went to bed and when I came to use it the next morning I noticed one long crack going up the screen (seemed more like a stress fracture rather than an impact crack you get from drops). These cracking screens are a known issue that plagued the aluminium Surface Laptops and I think should be covered under warranty because it's like a design flaw with the glass touching the aluminium palm rest when it closes.
I've yet to contact Microsoft to arrange a repair but I just wanted to ask if anyone has gone through the same process and whether there are any notable things I should look out for.
Also is it possible for me to go to a Microsoft store and arrange a repair that way? I much rather do that than having to send my laptop through the mail.
Thanks
If your handy with tool you can do it yourself if you can find the parts.

Step 8 is specific to removing the screen but you will need to get access to it using earlier steps.
Cost wise, I suspect it wont be cheap and there might be delays due to repair backlogs or delay in getting parts due to CV19.
Good luck
