YouTube Downloader with Auto-Resume?
Comments
Do you know if someone has developed a GUI front end for it? I'm not very efficient at command line stuff…
To confirm, just downloaded it and I'm stuck lol. I really can't operate text programs…. Glad I wasn't forced to use DOS…Works well got what I needed. The pause function doesn't work however so not sure how it auto resumes unless you stop and start it?
@figarow: Both pause and auto resume work. You just haven't figured it out yet. I'm using it regularly.
@alvian: When I pressed pause it did nothing. I did it several times. Maybe pressing stop is a better way? I didn't press stop because I was already into the download and my data is limited.
@figarow: Test out the GUI with a short video.
@alvian: Just tested on 2 minute clip, same issue pause does nothing, keeps downloading.
@figarow: Highlight download, press stop to stop.
Highlight stopped download, press reload to queue job. Press start to resume where you left off.Settings -> Options -> Advanced -> Retries -> Set number of retries for flaky downloads
Settings -> Update to auto update youtube-dl backendPause button pauses queued jobs from downloading. It does not pause active downloads.
@alvian: That works thanks mate!
jdownloader2 works pretty well
Forgot I actually had that one installed and it works well. When pausing it slows the download down but keeps it running which is a good idea I guess to keep the connection alive.
Maybe this could be useful…

I've used the Youtube to mp3 program and it works well.
4k used to work well but it stopped working for me. Not sure if its just me or not but I just keep getting errors, uninstall and reinstall didn't help.
Still working ok for me. Think it's great.
