Hitachi Touro Mobile 750GB Portable Hard Drive 2.5" USB3.0 $89.95 + $10 Shipping@ Shoppingsquare

It seems there is a 7200 rpm in there, which compares to a Black Scorpio 750GB
Which according to http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1806/6/ is just a bit under the Scorpio.

If I would not have 3x1GB and 2x500BG lying around I would probably buy it.

  • Does anyone know if this can this be opened up easily and put into a playstation 3?

    • Probably can, but it's a waste; PS3 doesn't use USB3.0 and 1GB USB2.0 ones are cheaper (1GB will be better: PS3 games are massive ~40GB some of them)

I'm assuming KLoNe meant 1TB drive, not 1GB.

a PS3 will only fit a 500gb drive, the 750gb and 1T drives are bigger than a standard 2.5" dimensions.

  • Does anyone know if the pic they used is an iPhone 4 with "Hitachi" written on it?

  • Think he meant 1TB

Or buy this WD portable 750GB USB 3.0 from Officeworks for $99 with free shipping or pickup in store

PS: I'm not sure about the actual hard drive inside.

    • I like that WD deal. "Manufacturer's Warranty: 3 Years."
Since when have WD HDD's had 3 year warranties?

      • Caviar Green, Caviar Blue, and Scorpio Blue HDDs were all three years prior to the drastic warranty reductions announced by WD and Seagate, effective from Jan, 2012:
        http://www.storagereview.com/western_digital_and_seagate_cut…

Drives produced before then are of course covered by their respective, retroactive warranties.

Scorpio Black and Caviar Black have always had and will continue to have 5 year warranty periods.
