The new Mi Band 6 was launched a few days ago. It has a 50% larger display, screen now measures 1.56" and also includes a sp02 sensor for reading blood oxygen levels.

Note: I did notice a few stores selling the Mi Band 6 for up to $1 less than Hong Kong Goldway. I went with a HKG being a reputable seller that usually deliver within 2-3weeks. Same seller who did the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro launch

To get price in title:

  • Apply promo code AESELECTED5 for US$5 off at checkout

If above promo code stops working these are US$4 coupons are still valid: DESCONTOSTECH4, ALIAN4, AMAN4 or ZUZU4

Note: Title prices include GST. Approximated AUD price, based on today's MasterCard rates, paying in USD.

Already available just launched a few days.

    • +16

Usually things are available after they are launched.

      • -4

        Not always… eg. PS5

        • +2

          That's why I said usually.

        • Ps5 were available but limited stock and people buying more for reselling.
          but still, available.

Any hands on reviews yet? Can only find press release fluff pieces..

  • I was looking at replacing my Band 4 and was expecting the typical June release date for China and Global shortly after.

I know this is the typical initial price point but now this looks tempting considering the price:

  • I feel like the mi band 5 only just came out ๐Ÿ˜†

    • i only just got mine the other day…

  • Does anyone know if Oz will be getting a NFC version?

    • +2

Why? Considering itโ€™s serves no purpose outside of China.

    • -3

It's just used to track people's movements within China at the moment.

  • Anyone know if you can buy a small band for this that will fit kids?

    • +2

We gave my daughter a Mi Band 5 when she turned 6.
The band fit her perfectly fine, although she was so excited by changing colours (we also got a multi-pack of extra bands) that she lost the watch within the first week! I think she hadn't done it up properly. So, my advice is that the band will fit but you need to ensure the little clasp button is securely connected ;)

      • Thanks! Good to know that the Mi Band 5 fits a 6 yo. That might be a better option than the Mi Band 6 as I believe it's smaller.

        • check out this review they are same size as the 6 fits in the 5 band.

        • Here is a comparison of the sizes -

          Mi Band 6 measures 47.4ร—18.6ร—12.7mm
          Mi Band 5 measures 47.2ร—18.5ร—12.4mm.

I'd be going for the 6, if the extra $$ doesn't bother you, mostly for the upgraded screen size.
That is the reason I am looking at a 6 to replace the 5 my daughter lost, even though the 5 is a fair bit cheaper!

          • @picogary: The screen on the 6 looks to be about 50% bigger than the 5. I'm kinda leaning towards the 5 as my kid's wrist is tiny.

He previously had a Tom Tom touch, which fitted perfectly (dimensions 5.6mm x 22.4mm).

            • +1

@mandelbrot: The screen's only 50% bigger cause it goes right up to the curved edges rather than being a rectangular shaped screen like the 5. The housing/body is an identical shape and takes the exact same bands as the 5 (as shown in the video above).

  • Not worth the upgrade if you already have a MI Band 5 imo.

    • +1

Full screen for Mi band 6, that is much better.

      • -1

Yes, if you like to pay extra ~$30-$35 for a larger screen then go for it. I just don't see the value in it. I have a Mi band 5 and the small screen hasn't bothered me yet.

        • Yes full screen is much better but agree band 5 is still very new and I have band 4 and I don't think I will buy band 6 anyway.

  • I'm interested in getting this - but noticed that it is CN version. Is there any disadvantage to not getting the Global version?

    • +1

Global is available, but $5 more, and this is OzB…
It is exactly the same as this.

I'm just waiting for a CR $2-$5 bonus at any store to buy this, I never get targeted for the $10 and up.

      • this article says that the CN version has up to 130 faces and the global has 60. I wonder if that is the available faces to choose from?
You can also use your own pics as watch faces.

        • 70 faces in Mandarin, the other 60 are translated.

  • I would happy to change from my mi5 if they have NFC working in Australia

  • Do you have to remove it from the band to charge it still, or can it connect magnettically to the back?

That was always a deal breaker for me. Also the band buckles from the outside instead of looping inside. This design always makes me lose the band.

    • magnetic charging since Mi band 5, hassle free.

  • +2

    TL/DR:

This is the same size as the 5, the screen takes up the entire body now, but the overall dimensions are the same.

There's an SPo2 sensor now, and there are more workout trackers.

    That's it.

  • can these be used to pay yet?

  • still have band 4 on my wrist…

  • I just damaged my 5, need a new one!

  • Hmmm I thought the Mi 6 was going to have Alexa built in, like the Amazfit 5.

  • +1

Just bought one as my first fitness tracker, thanks OP. Remember not to spam Aliexpress with too many coupon codes or use coupon browser-extensions like Honey. Aliexpress will end up blocking all coupons, even if they're valid. It's happened to me on several purchases on Aliexpress, including this one.

Find the best code and put it in once.

  • I need to use the vibrate alarm feature to wake in the morning. The dealbreaker for me is that on the Mi 5 you could not set this on the watch but had to use the app. Anyone know if this has changed on the Mi 6?

  • None of these coupons work,

  • +1

Mine has arrived, ordered on 03/04.
