  • Jeeze, nothing I’ve got to write is worthy of a $20 notepad

The paper quality is amazing! :)

That’s the problem. Too much pressure.

I just keep one for my premier thoughts and musings. Standard thoughts I record on used bandages or other flotsam that better reflect my intrinsic worthlessness.

Rhodia papers are more for people who use fountain pens, because fountain pens are so primitive that they are very picky about what paper you use.
Cheaper papers, some of them work well with fountain pen, some of them don't. It's really hit or miss unless you get something that's been tried for awhile that everyone uses (and Rhodia is one of them). Even more expensive papers can be a miss sometimes, and that can be a pain if you buy a notepad that you can't use because it's not working well with a fountain pen, you ended up with something that's worthless to you that you don't want to throw away but can't use.

I've never seen the appeal of the journal book like that, but if you want something like that I think that's a good price.

Eh, it's a hobby. There are lots of products for different hobbies too :P

    • a good fountain pen feels great though… almost as nice as a good pencil.

      • Yeah, I enjoy writing with fountain pens too, spent too much money on inks, pens and papers

I had the A5 dot grid version and the paper is so smooooth.

Worked perfectly with my fountain pens as well, no bleeding whatsoever. Quality is way better than Moleskine IMO.

    • no bleeding whatsoever

I should hope so, or you are using the pen wrong

Heh, bleeding refers to basically ink getting absorbed too much and soaking the paper to the point where it goes through the page.
