Worth It? Trade up Galaxy S20FE to S21 Ultra

Hi all
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S20FE (5G Snapdragon variant) on a plan from Optus, just under $900 owing on the phone. Phone is OK, but HATE the camera. Slow and a bit buggy with sub par images.

I can get a base S21 Ultra from the crazy Samsung trade in deal I read about on Ozbargain for a total of $499 shipped ($350 trade in plus $500 trade in bonus, also includes $250 worth of vouchers). Is this worth it, considering the amount owing to Optus? Is the Ultra that much better?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!👍

    I've done every second Samsung Galaxy. I lux'ed up for the Ultra this time and actually it's the first time I've had a battery that goes all day. So worth it for that.

        Loving the exynos 2100 in my S21+. Way better than the exynos of old.

        The only bug I had flickering video in instagram but it went away a month ago with an update. Otherwise all is ok

    went from iphone 12 pro max to s21 ultra back to my old pixel 3.

    i mostly use my phone for carplay/auto though. the s21 lags so hard with that software and gets my gps location wrong all the time

    it's probably worth the 500 to upgrade the s20fe though, the camera is awesome

      I have been eyeing off the S21 Ultra for an upgrade from my old LG V30 as it never gets my GPS location correct while driving unless I hold it up to the windscreen, but now your comment has me wondering if the Ultra isn't such a good upgrade there.

    Just got the S21+ from the Education EPP.
    Really happy after upgrading from my S8.
    Unless you want the fancy cameras, S21+ should last you the day fine.

    It seems that I am not the only one having this thought with Samsung, although I have a S10 Snapdragon. GCam is better for the photos but it only supports 30 fps video :(

      Idk if this applies to s21 ultra but i would have thought for a phone that boasts high end performance with strong focus on imaging, they would have had at least a decent experience with picture/video.

    i would go for the samsung S20 ultra over the s21 as 21 does not have the sd card expansion compared to the s20

      Good point, although I don't tend to go over my storage too often. I've heard that the S20 series suffered from some oddities in the camera and screen refresh rate, but maybe that was just the Note?

        i tested the s20 ultra wasnt mine but took a hand ful of snaps and it all seemed good as mentioned the s20utra has the expansion upto 1tb micro sd card and also google unlimited photo storage expires june 1st then

      Yep correct. Have paid Optus like $100 so far, plus I got the free Galaxy Buds Live promo.

    Thanks crew, I think for now I'll hang onto my S20. Good deal but doesn't feel worth the upgrade at the moment👍

    Does s21 ultra has gps problem ?
