CUDO - What a load of Crap!

I was looking at the recent deal for Perth of Cudo and was wondering whether the $300 off future treatment was included in the value of around $600. I decided to ask.

So I clicked help. There was a list of FAQS, and down below, the only other options were:

Other Enquiries
Feature your business
Share an idea you have for future offers
Media enquiries
Careers at Cudo

So no easy way to ask about today's deal under "Help".

I think I am more disenchanted with CUDO than I ever was with Scoopon. At least scoopon would tell you you were screwed. CUDO won't even answer my complaint.

I do not think that the value of "vouchers" that require additional spending to unlock the "value" of the voucher should be included in the value of a deal.

I think I am going to lodge a complaint with the WA dept of fair tradijng. This is just too much.

I think I am going to lodge a complaint with the WA dept of fair tradijng. This is just too much.

Probably not a good idea when all you have is just assumption at this stage. Maybe contact them first to find out exact details of the offer prior to lodging any complaints?

Anyway, their contact form can be quite difficult to locate, but it's there. Do this:

    1. Click 'Help'.
    2. In the dropdown 'You are viewing', select 'Contact Cudo'.
    3. Click on the link that says 'contact us form'.
    4. Select 'I have a question about today's offer' from the dropdown box.

    And there's the help form.

If you're referring to this deal, then from what I understand:

Look instantly younger with an IPL facial skin rejuvenation session and chemical peel for only $79 at Herbs For Health at Morley!
This powerful, anti-ageing combo would usually cost $589 but it's yours today with a refreshing 87% saving!

That translates to 1 session for the combo = $589 normally. So:

You also get a $300 voucher to put towards your next IPL skin rejuvenation session!

The first $300 of your next IPL session is covered, but you need to pay anything extra of their RRP cost.

That's just how I understand it, so it's probably best that you check with them to get the answer you want.

There have been many vouchers offered through the daily deals sites recently that are spend $x to receive $xy worth of value from a purchase (which may cost more that the value of the voucher you're purchasing) ie, it's going to cost you more money again. The links are given so that you can check out their prices beforehand to see if this really is such a good deal. Even better still, it's always wise to google for reviews etc.

There's nothing in those type of offers that Fair Trading is likely to get involved in.

If the offer is in fact for the one mentioned by pauly (which clearly offers services valued at nearly $600 PLUS a $300 voucher for next time) or one like it where you receive the initial visit, plus a discount voucher for a subsequent visit, it's really up to you to decide whether the value is there. From less than 3 minutes of research on the net I can tell you that it is not.

The IPL treatment offered is listed for $77 at the first link I went to:
    http://sonjasbeauty.rtrk.com.au/?scid=106016&kw=21733&pub_cr…
Prices for lactic acid peels vary, with most places I checked being between $75 to $110.
And unless they're giving you the remainder of the tube/s of Pelactiv products they're using, their nearly $600 price tag is clearly just snatched out of thin air
    http://www.theskincareshop.com.au/pelactiv-skincare-products…

It's clearly a crock, and it took me all of two or three minutes of my time to find this out. While ever there are people who don't bother (or simply don't think) to do a small amount of research there will be con merchants only too happy to relieve them of their money.

The hair and beauty offers through the daily deals sites receive so many bad reviews time and time again it astounds me that anyone goes near them.
