If the sole purpose of this monitor is to use with the PS4, why not buy a 32-40 inch TV instead?

  Yes, I am also in favor of that actually. Any good options in 32” tv with higher refresh rate and resolution.

    I don't think refresh rate should be a key deciding factor for a Kid's TV as you would be limited by the 60Hz max refresh rate of the PS4. Also the PS4 can only do 1080P (4K on the PS4 Pro) so unless you have a PS4 Pro or plan to buy a PS5 in the near future any 1080P or a cheap 4K TV will easily meet your requirements.
