Coles are selling an Optus Huawei X1 for $63. Has anyone got one? Is it OK for a basic smart phone for a senior person?

got this when it was released on optus 6 months ago for $90 approx as a first phone for a teen. he's quite happy with it. agree with previous poster about battery life. but a great small cheap andriod. its hard to find things like a cover for it though.
thanks
Smart phone for a senior person????
as in 70+. a pc is too complicated. the person can handle a normal mobile (dial, call, answer) but that is about it. navigating menus using 2 keys is too complicated so many features are not used. i thought a touch screen might be workable with a couple of simple apps to display info.
I'd recommend a Nokia dumbphone then — the Nokia S40 interface is very simple, has adjustable text size and is very straightforward.
Elderly people will find it very hard to operate a touchscreen — they on-screen keyboard is physically too small and lacks haptic feedback.
I have a Huawei Sonic to my 50+ uncle — he regularly complains about the small size of the keyboard, so I installed a basic T9 style keyboard on the device so he can see the buttons better. He has never installed an app, so I don't think a smartphone was to his liking in the first place anyway.
Non 3g:
Nokia Asha 200 $89 (Full QWERTY keypad) - Active Dual sim phone, full QWERTY slide out keyboardNokia C2-03 Touch and type unlocked via Unique Mobiles can use 2 sim cards at a time. $109
3G capable
Nokia 2730 (900mhz Yes G capable unlocked via Unique Mobiles $85 - Candy bar styleNokia C2-01 (850mhz Next G capable) Unlocked via Unique Mobiles $89 - Candy bar style / $99 shipped from Dick Smith
I picked one of these up today - this is NOT a stock android experience - lots of Optus bloat - and the build quality feels worse than my kids 8150s but as far as web browsing / making calls & texts , its a perfectly acceptable phone to house my spare Amaysim SIM. It's $63 at Coles until Tuesday 17th.
i just rooted the one i got (trivial using superoneclick). now it is easy to uninstall the bloat.
Smart phone for a senior person????
I got one for $79.I use it with my Liveconnected sim. Added a 2gb memory card off ebayfor $5.
Camera isnt the best and is difficult to press the shutter button-especially taking self portraits.
I get about a day and a half battery-so I dont understand the battery standby times they advertise.
Apart from the above it works well and is small and light.
