Has anyone tried sending a phone with damaged screen to Samsung as part of their trade in promotion? Did you get charged the bonus $500 + trade in value or only the trade in value?
Thanks

Ozbargain legal contract experts will also highlight at no point does any paperwork say specifically you will get charged the bonus fee, only a non phone return fee/ phone dishonour fee.
Non phone return fee = any discounts received for 'trade in' etc, plus cost of return etc ;)
Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when
Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device
Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.
This is from Samsung's T&C's for this deal; I imagine if they mention the discounts that were applied at the 'point of sale' i includes everything?
You gonna get rejected.
There's the box where you tick to say if there's screen damage, if it's ticked it's auto rejected.
They won't take it unfortunately.
Went through the whole process for my s9+ which was fine only to get rejected on the screen condition (minor cracks).
When you do the trade up - it specifically relies on you to say yes to your screen physically being fine before going ahead. And surprised your phone was able to pass the app check for screen usability if its quite bad..
Promo is still relatively new and based on the chatter JUST on ozbargain and stock depletion on website there's probably going to be a decent delay while they sort through the phones before we see any feedback.
Some people have already chatted to CS and advised samsung would charge you the agreed price of phone plus whatever bonus you got (300/500) with no straight answer on if you even get your phone back or would be further charged for return.

YMMV
