What noise?
I used to own one, the gear is very loud when opening/closing
maximum length
There is no length limit. Weight of the blinds would be more of a determining factor. That said, I've got mine hooked up to 5m's of verticals and it has no issue.
Could you comment on the battery life?
There's no battery, they must be plugged in to wall power
Do you know what voltage they are? Is it 240v, or is there a wallwart that converts it to DC
Dug out the box just for you š https://i.imgur.com/uuV49ir.jpg
@deanylev: Thank you kind stranger!
12v… interesting.
could I get 2 of these and hook them up to day and night blinds?
You need to have some space on the wall to stick this thing to
mine stopped working because plastic roller broke its teeth
Did you have connected to a beaded cord or just a standard cord (rope)?
3d print another one. !!
Somfy motors are way better
Link?
Hmm, I bought one last year and have to adjust the length of the blind per few months as it keeps getting a gear to spin defectively.
Plus, The app got a bunch of bugs and Home assistant can not use it as Tuya server does not support Kogan yet.
Please note that It just rebranded Zemismart which is a super copycat company.
Not recommend it at all.
any idea if it be flashed with a usb-ttl adaptor for HA?
edit - looks like this one, https://templates.blakadder.com/zemismart_YH002.html so interfacing it with HA looks simple enough

I've been using the Tuya Smart app (and thus server) since I got it last year (not the kogan app), no issues at all.
If I've already set up the Kogan app, do you think I'd be successful in porting over 9 Kogan lights to Tuya Smart? I have some AUSELECT led light strips in the mail and they use the Tuya app. It would be wonderful if they could all run off one app but that's what I use Google home for anyway
You will be 100% successful.
Anything that runs on the Kogan app is a tuya device. In fact the Kogan app is just an older (less frequently updated) version of the tuyaSmart app with and kogan branding .
I have devices from about five different brands, they all have their own branded app however they are all tuya devices. I use them all on the tuya Smart app without issue.
Of course youll need to open a new account in tuya and reinstall all your devices like new but it's well worth the effort in the long run to have them all together.in a single app.
Fantastic. I suspected this was the case but now I'm over the moon. Thanks for the advice.
@modded: No worries.
The other quick option is to add your auselect led strip to your Kogan app, however, it's far better to start afresh the official Tuya app imho.
How do people power these? Surely most people don't have 240v next to each window? And even if you did… those ugly power supply and power cable..
Use a tiny 12v extension cord from the power pack, easy and unobtrusive, very neat. Even tuck it in beside the carpet Grippit strips to make the cord ādisappearā.
Powered models such as this are suited for floor to ceiling blinds, where the wiring can be run along the skirting board.
If you're installing on a window that starts halfway up the wall, a battery powered model would be more suitable.
Standard industry practice is to use cable ducts to hide cables

Use the code TRENDING for an extra $1 off
I got 15% off with that code!
Mine has lost power and doesn't lift a fully closed roller blind up without some "help".
I.e give it a head start and pull the cable after pressing the button.
Due to that it also loses its positioning and needs tweaking.
It was good initially. Will kogan replace?

Does the motor not turn at all, or is the cord slipping in the cog?
Kogan would replace within warranty. I got another 4 and they arrived on Thursday. One is stuffed (it's glitching and keeps start / stopping), I sent them a video and they responded by saying they will send me a new one and to just throw the glitchy one out. Their warranty is great.
Does anyone have any suggestions for an automated system for a blind to tilt up and down.
Iāve got two rope/string cords (separated).
Would like it to automatically tilt open to let sun in the morning.
This is now $54.99 for Kogan First members
What noise? Is there a maximum length of blinds they can handle?
