Just landed in to stock at Kmart so more stores will have stock show up and delivery as well over the next few days.
Currently seeing stock around west sydney.

$10 cheaper than everywhere else for this highly anticipated set.

Everyone says "highly anticipated" but it keeps coming back on stock, and apparently the price keeps dropping!

Well they do have the ability to print more cards, however this is the first time Kmart has stocked this set.

"Price keeps dropping" is a bit of an exaggeration too when it's been posted only once before on here for its RRP while EB Games have it at $110 and specialty stores $130+.

As you said some stores are at $130, RRP is (apparently?) $110, a few months ago a jb sale had it for $100, and now it's going for $90 today.

To correct you, it has gone up on ozb twice already at $100 (not at its RRP)

Not to say it's not a good price at $90. Card prices are going stupid, but I'm personally a bit wary of things the manufacturing company tells you is a collectors item =p

        • I have Collector's toilet rolls, I have a whole room filled with different patterns, textures, and colours!

  • If anyone finds any in vic, please post. Nothing on the south east end, parkmore, Brandon park, Frankston

Could someone please explain what this is and whether there would be any benefit of getting it in addition to a Battle Academy if a child is just starting out and I’m wanting to have a game with them?

    • There is a “chase” card, shiny Charizard vmax roughly worth about $900 atm for a raw ungraded version. That’s all, very highly desired due to that one card for collectors.

Pretty much it's just more cards from the 'Shining Fates' set which is limited to these boxes, and it also includes accessories such as card sleeves, dice, more energy cards, etc.

So if you wanted to you could use these cards in your Battle Academy set to make more diverse decks.

      • Thank you. If you know, would you recommend the Battle Academy as the best set to start with for a two player game?

        • Yeah I would.
It's a cheap way to see if you like the game and has everything you need.

        • +1

Battle academy is great value for starters, you get three decks each including a gx card.
The cards are all"marked" as coming from battle academy so they won't have the individual card value but no impact on there in game use.

Shining Fates is a collector's set. You'ld be better off getting Battle Styles expansion as it introduces new mechanics (Single Strike & Rapid Strike). Battle academy is good for kids to learn and start off the actual TCG.

don't be ridiculous, noone actually plays pokemon /s

  • Anyone where do I start with this field ?
I think I'm too late and missed the boat big time :)

  • appreciated if someone had thoughts on the best starter sets for children who want to get into the game?

    • The Battle Academy set will have everything you need.

      • thank you
