edit: The extra 5% off coupon has expired.

Not the best specs or features out there (no mopping), but it has pretty good reviews, and if you're looking for a budget option like I was, this might do. It seems to be better for hard floors rather than carpet. This seems a fairly frequent reoccurring deal which I found in the ozbargain search history.

I can't find the end date but it's not listed in their current catalogues.

The Good Guys also has the same price listed until the 28th: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/eufy-robovac-35c-wi-fi-t2117t…

  • Cuomo V2 Pro with mopping was $292 eBay afterpay sale.

    • I'm guessing that autocorrected from Xiaomi V2 Pro? I was concerned about reports of large monthly data uploads to servers in China, including claims of wifi login details being sent, so was looking for one which also has non-wifi functionality (this one can be controlled by both a remote and an app), which is a preference which some others might be keen on.

I ended up with one of these 35c robots after the $99 Ecovacs Deebot 600 died after 1 day (it wouldn't charge after the first use) and JB couldn't replace it (no stocks, so they gave me a 35c as a straight swap), so it cost me $99. The one time that the Deebot 600 worked it got stuck 3 times. This 35c gets stuck a lot less often and it hasn't died yet (been 3 weeks now). The 35c also has a feature where it senses a carpet and ramps up the suction automatically and drops back to "eco" mode when it hits a hard floor again.

It certainly works quite well on hard floors (it fills the collection box most days), but just don't watch it as it is frustrating haphazard in it's movements. We have a large 5 bedroom house, and it moves through the whole house over a few days - covers most things. It also gets to places we don't like under couches and beds. It will never replace a proper vacuum cleaner for carpets, but it does reduce the amount of times we need to sweep and vacuum because it picks up the loose stuff.

I bought a 35c for a mate 2 weeks ago through Good Guys Commercial for $249, which may be better than this deal (if you have access to Commercial).

    • Thanks for the review!

Yeah I mostly plan to run it in one large tiled office room with manual supervision while I'm in there. Just to save me having to vacuum frequently in my new place which seems to get dirty floors frequently. It's probably not ideal for a large complex house, but even a random pattern is going to help a lot in this one room with my infrequent vacuuming.

  • A review for anybody who comes looking through these threads later like I did:

I'm reasonably happy with it and it's about what I expected as a budget option, but… It can't handle the flat feet of my desk where I wanted to run it. The spinners get caught beneath the feet as it begins to climb them, and instantly detach, then the unit gets stuck halfway up a slightly curved bit of flat metal. With any other furniture it's pretty good, except the one spot I wanted it.

The vacuum power is also just okay, not incredible, but that's about what I expected. I'm only using it on tiles and can't imagine it would do much on carpet. In retrospect I wish I'd gotten one which mops because for the first time I'm noticing how much tiles get dirty in a way which isn't just about vacuuming, but which a quick wipe can resolve.

The random pattern definitely has some logic to it. At first it seems to just bounce randomly while it gets an idea of boundaries in the area you've limited it to (the magnetic tape works well and is easy to pick up and set down to block off a part of the house), then it seems to do a pretty good job of doing a pattern to cover every area, though doesn't focus on one particular room at once, and instead goes around every room in bits. It does a pretty good job of stopping right before it hits walls once it's worked out the approximate boundaries, so it's definitely building some sort of internal map each time.

Mine got a big crack in the front bumper which then spread up the glass on the top, within the first 2 or 3 runs, and I'm really not sure how that happened. Maybe from getting caught underneath something and pushing too hard. No other reviews I saw mentioned anything like that, but it definitely bummed me out because I was considering reselling like new as a backup option if it didn't quite cut it. The sticker you have to remove on first use also left a lot of glue in a long strip on the top which instantly got dirty with dust, and I need to find out what can remove that without damaging the unit.

Overall it's about what I expected I suppose, and I'm on a pretty tight budget, but I did fairly immediately wish I'd gotten something slightly better and more featured. I like that this doesn't need to use wifi and can be operated with the remote.
