Extend Active "Microsoft 365 Family" Subscription with Unused "Office 365 Pack"?

Hi,

I have active "Microsoft 365 Family" subscription.
I also have an unused, sealed "Office 365 Home Premium" pack.

I assumed/hoped that I would be able to extend my active Microsoft 365 Family subscription with the Office 365 Home Premium.
But, when I contact Microsoft chat today, they said I could not.

From what I understand, if I have an active Office 365 subscription, when it expires, it will automatically be converted to Microsoft 365, since its essentially a renamed product.
But I can't extend my Microsoft 365 subscription with the Office 365 pack.

Is this CSR correct?
Has anybody been able to extend an "Microsoft 365 Family" subscription with "Office 365 pack"?
Is my only realistic option to sell or give away the Office 365 pack?

    Have you tried to activate it online? What does it say before you confirm?

    No, I did not try to active it online. I prefer to leave it sealed (easier to sell) until I'm confident I can use it.
