    I never really understood why you'd aim for that high of a net profit.

    I mean, assuming thats net, not gross; you've already over-paid your upper management, paid your staff, maintained your equipment, submitted your budgets…. And you have a positive 8 billion surplus?

    I mean, you have 5000 staff; you could literally give every employee a 1million dollar bonus, and still be 3 billion net profit.

    We're talking USA here too; 500'000 would buy someone (everyone) a fancy house, and you'd still have 6 billion!

    Growing a company is one thing, you need some net profit to expand, but surely 3 billion a year is enough? Guess not.

      Dividends to shareholders. The CEO's job is to maximise profit for shareholders, not salary of employees.

    blizzard has done charity events in wow for years, fyi. not saying it's good or bad, but this is a pretty normal promotion.

    you don't have to donate, but you probably have to have an active subscription during the event
