Anyone Have Flash Issues with Oppo A52?

So I think ever since a software update a few months back, whenever I try to use the flash on my oppo a52 phone the camera doesn't actually take the photo until after the flash has already happened, so i'm left with a dark image. This happens on both the stock camera app and the gcam app i got the apk for.
Anyone get this problem with one of their updates or any other reason?
