Not overall sure how this thing works, if it's just a slot car set you control from a mobile app or it's a programmable thing, but I got it anyway, for $39 marked down from its original release price of $299. I'm assuming if you buy a few sets you can expand the set, but not sure. I Will give it a try later on in the week.
Delivery seemed overly expensive, so I just picked it up from the Knox store. Seems to some around Melbourne, good luck finding one.
i assume if batteries are dead i can just take it back for a refund, but thanks for letting me know, I wont let it sit too long before I test it out.
Looks like Anki were bought over by Digital Dream Labs and they are still selling batteries, at least in the US?
I bought 3 sets when last on sale. My kids join them up to make nice long tracks that snake around the house.
If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can replace the batteries inside the cars with similar size "LiPo" batteries found on Aliexpress (there are a few youtube videos on how to do this).
The app is still available and works fine on the latest Android and iOS versions.

Another problem is that the company that made these sets closed down and no update will be made to the app, which you will need to use to operate them.
Yes. I wonder if it requires internet access and a server to work? If so, then it might be useless pretty soon
We have a set. No issue with the app so far, and the batteries are fine. Cheap expansion track pieces are - or were - available through eBay.
Just be aware that you control the vehicle with your phone and the AI is forgiving to the point that it's rather hard to lose unless you're playing against another person.

These sets are so old now that the batteries in the cars are likely dead beyond repair.
