My family would love to fly to Canada in nov/dec this year (2012), preferably all the way to Winnipeg. Anyone who has a heads up about good priced tickets would be very welcome.
Have seen Air China is cheapest just now, but not keen on an up to 66(!)hr flight and no inflight entertainment with 2 kids.

Check out skyscanner.com.au.
Also, sometimes it might be easier if you buy one way tickets flying different airlines to stopover destinations.
Also worth checking Virgin Australia and Jetstar from Sydney (if your from Sydney) to either LA or Honolulu then buying another ticket via someone like WestJet.
I'm going to vancouver in March, got a one way JetStar ticket to honolulu for $360, stay there for a few nights then fly from Honolulu to Vancouver ($400), flying back from LA via VAustralia for $660. All up its about 1450.
