20c - Smith's Vegemite Potato Chips 90g - Coles, Thornlie, WA

380

Not really a bargain as they are kind of weird and gross.

Still - may appeal to someone…

The price jumping down == epic fail of new flavor

    • +4

I've tried these and they were nice. Everyone I spoke to liked them. Think it was more of a marketing fail.

    • +4

The price jumping down simply means they're getting near the expiration date. Most limited edition chip runs have a pretty short shelf life.

    • +3

From what i hear it was a promo which has since ended and thus prices have hti clear them out level

  • +3

Dude, I guarantee you if that were in burwood Vic, that shelf would be almost empty!

    • +6

Cause I would have bought them all!

      • +3

Depends if I got there first:p

  • +4

soon to past the best before dates?

    • +1

Well they discontinued these, so presumably.

  • +3

If the Smith's Representative that came into the IGA store i was working at is anything to go by, Coles actually forced them to make this flavour, or else would stop selling their chips. If that's true, i hope Coles learnt their lesson! :P

    • +1

flavours never last. Coles would have sold so much of these at full price, clearing this stock is no real loss, made money overall.

  • +1

What do vegemite chips taste like?

    • +1

not same as 'iSnack 2.0' or 'Australia'

    • +5

Like they have 8000+ Mg of salt / 100g. Maybe they should have used Promite instead. Don't waste your money, as they are $hit.

    • +4

They're a beefy kinda flavour, with more tang. I liked them a lot.

    • +2

      taste like Vegemite…

Our local coles were selling them for 50c for ages so i stocked up…

      • +3

I never saw Coles selling these for more than 50c. They've had them for 50c for months.

  • +5

If I could get there, I'd buy these by the truckload.

The only bad chip flavour is Salt & Vinegar.

    • +17

      How dare you!

    • +8

It doesn't get any more Aussie than Salt 'n' Vinegar, you traitor.

    • +5

      why you… >:O

    • +1

haha the bad chip i have tried is the mint lamb flavour, threw the whole pack in the bin.

  • +1

These barely taste like Vegemite, they are pretty bad.

  • +22

Ah, Vegemite. Even in chip form it divides the nation.

    • -3

Divides the nation into true Aussies and immigrants :)

  • +1

    they are ok
    bit salty though

  • +1

I liked them…. I bought two boxes when they were 50c each. A marketing fail because they are exclusive to Coles for some reason.

Bit sick of them now though!

  • +2

don't know why they're so cheap, they taste quite nice actually, and I don't even like vegemite.

  • +2

Don't rush to Coles - went to both Coles stores in Dee Why and they are both selling at full price - $1.79 per pack.

These Vegemite Chips expire in 18 days!

A lot of people will be disappointed with Coles - I don't think one buys chips from a major supermarket at full price with the expectation that they are only good for a few days!

    • +5

Are they kidding. With the amount of salt in these, they're good for months to come. :)

  • -1

Wife bought around 6 packs of these, ended up giving them away to the in-laws. Complete crap…
    Good price though.

  • +1

50c at the Coles I was in today, not worth it.

Now 20c, that makes a difference.

    But then these comments, turn-offs.

    • which coles? 50c is a bargain , I love them and my kids do too , we want more LOL

  • -1

I like almost all different flavour chips but these I didn't like at all.

  • Wanna try that flavour

  • +3

I actually quite like these. Good price.. too bad i'm from Sydney

    • +1

      50c @ Caringbah, if you're near there.

  • +3

When the eff are they going to release a Vegemite drink?

  • +3

i see heaps of these in nearly every Coles store i go to in perth :)

  • +2

they are my favourite flavour. but none at my local coles :(

  • +2

saw the same deal at Coles in Dog Swamp W.A. on Sat avo.
    might still be some left.
    expired in end of January.

    • +3

Saw same deal in E. Vic. Park, WA about a week ago. Likely to be sold out now though I guess.

  • +1

Officeworks has regular flavoured Smiths but not Vegemite. Damn you Smiths for making them Coles exclusive. I want my 1c saving :(

  • +1

Same deal at Coles Karawara (Perth), there weren't too many on the shelf but there may have still been a box out the back waiting to go up.

  • +1

any in SA? i'm always looking for cheaper ways to harden my arteries.

    • +1

They did have them here in SA

  • +2

  • +2

i miss the crispy bacon flavour :(

    • +1

      You and me both :(

  • +1

    Atomic Tomato ftw

  • +1

Not really a bargain as they are kind of weird and gross.

What you talking about??? I adore these!

  • +3

Oh these are soooo yummmy! It was bad enough when they were 50cents I bought I think 8 packets..Now 20cent…hrmm..i have to go see if they are selling them at this price here!

  • +2
