Bluetooth FM Transmitter for Car with No Bluetooth, No USB, No Aux

Hi

We are planning a long trip with our young toddler but we realised we need to have music continuously playing in the background. I've got the playlist on my android phone Reno Z (USB C) but our car doesn't have AUX, USB or Bluetooth option.
I was wondering if someone here had any experience and any recommendations on a bluetooth FM transmitter for car?

This is the one I was looking at: Blitzwolf

Also I was looking at buying a faster charger to continually to charge without the phone battery dieing out. If there is also suggestion for this, I would greatly appreciated.

Cheers

None of these are great, not even Belkin or other ones and you'll get plenty interference & cut outs. Grab a cheaper one off Amazon with Prime and return them if you're not happy with performance.

    • not even Belkin

Agree with this - I have the Belkin CarAudio Connect: works great for music, but the microphone is rubbish. Can also be finicky (re-)connecting when powering on.

I've seen a number of good comments on the Taotronics ones on Amazon, but haven't pulled the pin myself yet.

Why not get a bluetooth speaker and then you can use it outside the car as well, like on a picnic in a park or beach.

You can get ABC RADIO all the way up the east coast and a fair way inland.

    What was your question again?

  • You can just get a portable speaker and plug into cigarette light socket to keep it charged. Or radio.

  • Get one that allows you to choose your frequency, I had an Aldi one for $15 that was really good, just had to adjust the freq if I travelled into an area with that station broadcasting.

  • I got one of these recently. They go for as cheap as $5 on AliExpress. It works flawlessly and can recommend.

Radio bluetooth thingys are okay, i find its annoying that it produces static when using the radio.

  • If you have time to wait for delivery then I can personally suggest this one. Fast charger and one button control to change music and volume up and down and for calls. Sturdy feel, small slick. I have used many other fm transmitter but this one checks out. Cheap also!

  • How about just a new head unit…?

They're like $150, and you'll have USB and Bluetooth. And will use it for a long time…

    As low as $90

    • Fair point but it's the installation which is costlier in a 2007 Camry.
I guess I'm trying to avoid doing any additional work on the car unless it's necessary as it'll most likely get sold for scraps or sold for $1000 when we head back home to live - NZ.

      • Pretty easy, it's just a fascia kit

  • Nice to hear that you have a camry. I have a 2001 and I've used 2 units in it, a Baseus one and another one from Aldi. Both were decent, the main issue you will encounter is poor microphones, which means if a call drops in the people on the other end can't hear you well. It will improve based on how high up your lighter socket is (how close to your face) and if the windows are closed (it will be impossible for someone to hear you if they are open, and if they are closed but you are going highway speeds it will be difficult but you can carry a short emergency conversation if you speak loudly.

The Baseus one was this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/550382

The Aldi one has a marginally better mic, it makes a bit of difference but it's nothing like my factory BT in my other car.

The good news is both played music perfectly, and both had fast charge ports. The camry radio isn't worth replacing IMO, I'm planning to pimp my car a bit but I'm probably going to leave the stock radio as the AM is super clear and I haven't seen someone upgrade and keep decent AM.
