That one rarely ever goes on discount as it's the bike of choice for food delivery workers. They're absolutely everywhere in CBD. You can get them used for few hundred dollars cheaper though.

      • I don't know how these food delivery guys get away with having bikes that don't require pedal assist. They're practically mini motorbikes.

        • one day the police will crack down. one day. unlicensed, unregistered, and unroadworthy. i can't wait. they can then crack down on the modified ones that are doing 50km/h

  • Any eBike that's non-folding & great value closer to 20kg in weight? These all seem rather hefty to lug up my apartment stairs,..

Also: are prices coming down in real terms? seems still relatively expensive vs. pre-covid, I guess not coming down anytime soon hey?

    • I've been looking too but seems unlikely at this price point, especially these are hub drive. The other one I was looking at is the Cube Reaction which is a bit lighter at 23.9kg and from my (limited) googling it seems integrated mid drive ebikes will be a bit lighter.

A lot of these ebikes come with front suspension and the choice is usually a low end suntour coil which adds a bit of weight. The way I'm seeing it now is a motorcycle replacement that can be ridden on cycleways, so I'm not as concerned about the weight anymore.
