My Dyson V10 battery appears to have died. Does anyone have experience with any of the vast number of replacements available. The genuine part is $139 from Dyson, but knock offs are around $90. Any advice?

This. I called them and they offered me a free replacement "out of goodwill", though I'm pretty sure the cost of the unit at the start already paid for the cost of the "free battery" :)
Most knock off ones have falsified capacity figures. See my past comment on my Dyson V6 battery. After a few "compatible" ones from eBay, I ended up just getting the genuine one instead.
The ones on eBay are mostly fake. They have huge capacity claims but they are all bullshit. I bought one ages ago and it was worse on runtime than the one I replaced. It was advertised as 4.5Ah but when I took it apart, it only had 2.0Ah batteries inside it. The one before that was just as bad. Was the last non-genuine part I ever bought for my Dysons.

Call Dyson, they have a 2 yr warranty. If you complain a bit about expecting it to last longer than that etc, you'll get a free one out of warranty.
Mention about James Dyson promising V10's battery lasting 15 years if you're contacting them.
https://www.techradar.com/au/news/james-dyson-promises-15-ye….My V10 is just over 3 years old now. Battery still seems to be ok. Has anybody here made a battery replacement claim after the 2 year mark?
I know someone with a v8 who did, at about the 2.5 year mark and got a replacement with no questions asked (though it was implied it wouldn’t happen for free again). Not sure about a v10 though.
My Dyson's battery was barely holding charge. Got a replacement from eBay (not original) - works fine for a few months already.
Contact Dyson. I’ve heard from about half a dozen people that they will just replace it out of warranty.
