Insta360 Go2 or GoPro or.?

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be a father soon (Anytime in april) and I want to capture as much videos possible in this last month (buying things for bub, assembling them etc), Labour/Delivery and when the bub is growing..!! sorry..sort of everything from now on so we capture a lot of memories..

I don't want to capture it from phone as I want something hands-free. Recently saw insta360 go2 video and it is awesome..Gopro is another option.. Can you guys recommend which one should I go for or any other idea..!!

Thanks

Get a tripod or a friend/family to record?

I've used my gopro only a handful of times. The ease of transferring and sharing files on a phone is fair better.

I think the nurses & Drs are going to either laugh and point at you or tell you to get out if you rock up with a gopro strapped to your head.

Well..that's why I was thinking about insta360 go2 as it's tiny and can be attached tobyour tshirt with included magnetic neck strap..!

    • yes
but i've bet they've seen it before
it's hard to shock those people

and they try to give people the leeway they can to have the birth they want
      everyone's different

If you have a good smartphone then it should be enough. I personally scheduled weekly for a minute video recording so that I won't forget doing.

The ista360 go 2 has fixed memory of 32gb - they don't tell you that part…
Also the magnetic function isn't as strong as they would have you believe

IMO - wait for the next generation

      seriously? no sd cards?

Correct, at this high cost I would expect 64gb as minimum, or a micro sd card slot

I almost bought one, but the next model will be the purchase for me

    • Thanks..I didn't knew that..!! Maybe for the next bub then ;)

the problem with a camera the you are holding or wearing, is that you will never be in the videos.
you are an important part of the memories too

get your insta360 go2 or whatever you decide to strap on

but also get a tripod and a regular handycam type video camera with the widest lens you can find

    • then you can hand it to a friend or family member
    • and mum can pick it up when she wants and film
    • and most useful of all then you can stick it down in a corner somewhere - on the tripod or on some furniture - and you can get some unattended wide angle video of both of you together, the three of you together, or a whole group or room

daddy needs to be in the videos too

    also:

backup back up BACKUP - at least 2 places - at least one physical location like a portable hard drive, and at least one digital cloud location

    finally:

remember that filming something usually has an observer effect and people act differently

try not to be annoying especially when she's tired or in pain

try not to to feel upset or regretful if you miss something, it will happen it's just part of being a videographer

try not to be a creep. at least tell people you plan on filming them at some point in the next time period. candid footage is awesome, but dont be a creep.

remember some people are very sensitive to being imaged and will refuse, get upset, be impossible, become enraged. dont force people. and just avoid filming difficult people, life is too short. if a reluctant or difficult person is attending a group family event just let them know before hand you will be filming at some point and will try to avoid them.

and most importantly try your hardest not to be focused on filming and not in the moment experiencing things.
(some people seem incapable of this - if that's you reconsider. but your instinct to go hands free is good and consider my unattended wide angle suggestion too.)

    it's all a delicate dance
