  Multiple 12v rails was a big thing decades ago, then the rage was massive 40A+ 12v rails, which is the rage these days?

    The massive rails are still in, those multi rail ones don’t always play nice with modern setups. I tried a 2070 Super on a 200X era designed 4 rail 750w Antec gold and it made the psu scream with coil whine. Switched to a modern 650w and all happy again.

    Multi rail is more complicated to use, you need to actively spread load around the rails - if you have lots of mechanical hard drives etc it's a pain in the ass !

    The beauty of the single rail designs is that you can just cable everything using the connectors that make sense - there's no limitations on what goes where in your case.

    Thanks guys, yeah that's what I remember as well. I think the last multi rail I used was a Corsair HX1000. Will rather stick to single rail.
