Amazon have recently dropped the price on this incredibly well reviewed and super versatile hiking pack. I personally own this pack, opting to go for the very best after trying to cheap out on a shoddy Caribee pack for the Overland Track in Tassie and being punished with broken straps and zips. This thing is awesome. If you're wanting to do multi-day hikes/camping trips, look no further.

Comes in two different colours, and 3 different harness sizes, with slightly varying prices, but Black (Regular) appears to be the cheapest.
Paid about $450 for mine, and I've never seen it go this cheap. Hopefully it helps someone!

Perfect for hiking into the wilderness to avoid hearing anymore about the Royal family.

Also great to go hiking and help out the local economy, seeing as this pandemic will continue to restrict tourists arriving from overseas for a while yet - we're also very lucky to be able to go out and explore such a beautiful country. 👍

  • Anyone know the difference with this one and the Crown that sells on Drop.com?

    https://drop.com/buy/drop-granite-gear-crown-x60

I'm assuming that the the Crown is ultralight and perhaps not so durable? It currently sells for USD90. Even after currency conversion and postage it strikes me as being super cheap….although perhaps this kind of ultra light isn't suitable for Australian conditions compared to Nth American trails.

id go crown from drop unless it doesn't have your size or colour preference.

major difference between crown and blaze is just load capacity (15kg vs 22.7kg). ive loaded crown with 18kg over few days without issue. not sure what other people are doing with their bags but i havent had any issues with the drop version of the crown in aussieland.

might be worth grabbing some of the other stuff from drop as well since it's ~20aud shipping. however it does look like a lot of the camping gear is out of stock :(

      • Depends on what type of walks you do.

The more off-track / rock / scrambling you do the harsher it tends to be on my bags.

But I doubt there'll be much concern for a decently made bag like a GG Crown.

  • Recommend the Crown 60L one on drop.com as mentioned above. Around AUD120 including shipping (includes $10 discount if this is your first drop order). I have one though haven't used it for multi-day hikes yet.
At ~1kg weighs less than half as much as my 55L Osprey. But only comes in M and L, not S. Doesn't have the front-access zipper that the Blaze does, and other differences per DONMAI above.
Should be just as durable, they're both a mix of 100D and 210D Robic. Same adjustable hip belt system.
For $120 can't be beat for value!

I’m in the market for a 60L backpack but I just can’t have one without side zips and sleeping bag compartment. Top loading are just too messy for me, small details I know but for me they are important
