How is this any better than the redbull $365/year offer?

    • it's $8 more expensive each month or $96/year

    • it uses the optus network rather than the vodafail network?

      • But has less data and doesn't include 13/18 numbers.

      • It confused me because Savvytel used to be on vodafone

        • Savvytel has not been on the VF network for almost 18 months now.

    Waste of time…

    Calls to 1300, 1500 & 1800 numbers
    29c per minute

Definately not a bargain, and it's expired? lol

    • agreed.

keep in mind there may be movement mid 2012 for legislation outlawing per/min charges for 1800/1300.
hope it applies to plans already in place.

Not a bargain,Redbull and woolworths is better than this.
    Woolworths is $12.60 for 45 days($8.40 a month)$500 calls 5gb data,uses Optus network.

Come on mate, atleast abuse them with proper grammar.

        • Abuse might have been the wrong word, ohwell, I do agree that their network is not the best though.

    • +2

      Sockpuppet much?

  • It's $2 per month cheaper than Amaysim but the latter is offering 3rd month free, so it's not really a good deal.

  • +1

With Woolworths the cost will be $29 for 45 days (after the initial offer) and you are limited to $250 calls to any mobile, landline and voicemail, however call charges are 89c per minute with a 39c flagfall. SMS are 29c.

    • People are getting these Woolies recharges half price and with ezy card discount for about $12, giving $250 calls + $250 to Optus network plus 5GB data. For landline calls if needed, a smart phone could run voip/skype for cheap untimed calls.

    • +1

It's $8.40 a month,i am not going to do the maths but your not really paying 89c a minute.
The recharge dockets expire 01/11/12 so you buy about 7 which will pretty much last the year.

who says you can only use one woolworths' offer? people are buying a year's worth.

Positive only because i hate having to deal with Indans when i have a problem with my service. To bad it doesnt include 1300 and 1800 numbers. Not sure if voice mail is included, add all those things to your plan and i'd be tempted! Everyone else has, why can't you. But good stuff on keeping Jobs in Australia by having a call centre here.

  • Voicemail is included but you are correct 13, 15 & 18 are not.

    • Just cusious as to why 13/18 are not included (seems pretty common on optus for this to be the case) but others include them, any particular reason?

      • Who includes 1300 & 1800 numbers on an unlimited style plan on Optus? Amaysim do not, Virgin only include 13/1300 numbers in their 'unlimited', boost $40pm unlimited does include these but only 3gb data. It comes down to costs and if it is profitable to provide an unlimited service. There is no point for a company to provide a service and lose money as the company will then not be able to provide a service at all.

        • You just answered yourself…

"Who includes 1300 & 1800 numbers on an unlimited style plan on Optus?

Amaysim do not, Virgin only include 13/1300 numbers in their 'unlimited', boost $40pm unlimited does include these but only 3gb data."

Well why not offer something noone else does, a heap of data and 13/18 calls, the difference between 3gb and 4gb is marginal as far as 3g is concerned, I'd rather have 13/18 calls anyday than more data, but I can stay with Amaysim on the $40 plan I got for $10 first month and get the 3rd month free, no incentive to swap, but if you included 13/18, I would be highly tempted. Isn't the point of all these low cost, high usage plans to try and suck up as much of the user base as possible? Wouldn't offering something someone else doesn't be more beneficial than trying to offer the same product at a marginally reduced price with no extra incentive?

      • +1

Just use a vopi app for untimed landline calls, 1800 will be free and 13 like 10 cents.

  • +4

I wouldn't call it bargain of the century but it really does not deserve to be negged.

I've never seen a cheaper Optus plan with unlimited standard calling & texts.

Redbull is Vodafone, Woolworths is not unlimited, apples & oranges.

  • REP if you offer 4GB data, you might off give UNLIMITED data. honestly i have never seen anyone using more than 3GB per month. But unlimited data is a better marketing gimmick without having too much more cost.

    • +4

because people use the sims in netbooks etc and can easily do 3gb in a day

      • Exactly mattgal!

      • now that phones can tether easily by wifi, id say having unlimied would make peoples data rates go crazy, i dont use my phone data because after the 2GB included in the plan is consumed they charge crazy stupid prices… they really should limit your speed.

        • With SavvyExtreme you have the choice to suspend data until the next 30 day cycle starts or purchase an additional 1gb or 2.5gb data pack.

        • NICE! although before getting too excited, do you need to ring them up or notify them in some way or does it happen automatically?

        • system will Automatically top up when u used up 4GB

  • Cough LiveConnected Zen 35 Plan + Redbull 365 day are better Cough

  • Optus is somewhat regarded as better than vodafone IN GENERAL so please don't say in a particular location, Vodafone is better or no Optus signal at all, etc. I have used all three network and find that at some locations , supposedly the best one, Telstra has no signall at all while Optus and voda have 5 bars. It is all about on average or at least, on an aggregated figure, telstra has the best coverage, followed by Optus and then voda being the last one

Taking this into account, buying Optus network gotta be more expensive than voda network, so for those always take live connected and red bull, please take that extra cost into account. You cannot expect paying the same price for the different quality level. If redbull and live connected switched to Optus network, the price would inevitably go up anyway. You cannot just say that they are better wholly depends on the price.

And to savvytel, I would rather have only 3 gb of data and have 13/18 numbers included than having 4gb and no 13/18. I cannot say about your cost but provided that they are the same, then choose the one customers value the most. I would pretty much criticize about no 13/18 number much more than having less 1gb of data. What would you prefer OP?

    • +1

this plan is already in place but we take your points on board, however we realise that we cannot please every user and believe that more customers would prefer the extra data (taking into consideration smartphones and tablets using more and more data) than calling 13/15/18 numbers. How many times do you actually call these numbers as we find our current customers call these numbers extremely infrequently.

    • buying Optus network gotta be more expensive than voda network, so for those always take live connected and red bull, please take that extra cost into account

shinichiduy - Live Connected is on the Optus network.

      • Sorry, it was my bad. Always thought they are with Vodafone. Now it could change the game entirely

  • +1

Liveconnected is a good plan but there is no phone support. Obviously our plan will not suit everyone but to keep up to date and to appeal to all customers we aim to provide a variety of plans to suit different users. We are comparatively small Australian owned and based telecom company that strives to offer good customer service and good value.

    • I agree, you cannot please all customers but it is better to please more customers by offering a variety of plans. I suggest you offer something that is currently not being offered by anyone else. Maybe just unlimited to one number and plenty of credit to anything else. This type of plan is not new in New Zealand but I have not heard of it here

In my country, they usually offer plans that suits different types of occupations. They have plan for couples, like the one I just mentioned, for business, for students, and even for farmers

Just some suggestions to appreciate the fact that the rep is very responsive and active and because you are the small business, which means that things are easier to change or implemented.

  • Good deal, just unfortunately there are better options.

Dw rep, ozbarginers are hard to please :P
