Hail damage car sell out (Northern Motors, VIC) - Are such car sales any good????

I just came to know about this today morning on my way to work (a bit too late now to go there since I am already in the office), but I wanted to know other opinions, in case this happens again.

If anyone goes here today (or have been in similar sales earlier) please update me. Cheers.

  • Are such car sales any good????

That all depends if you like cars with dents all over them or not.

  • The situation may have changed, but a number of years ago someone I know bought such a car, and was unable to get anything other than 3rd party property insurance on it.

  • Thanks for that. Learnt my lesson: "stay away from it".

Yep, insurance companies won't touch them. And I have never seen any that a are super cheap any way, more like the saving is around what it costs to fix.
The cars are also registrered as hail damaged so when you want to sell you will get just about nothing.

    • Correct!

If they sell $370z for $1000 then I'll buy it =D

I went to Northern Motor group & the Ssangyong place across the road. Some of the damage was minimal to the cars but still noticeable. the 370Z was gone. the saving were genuine, with a brand new Kia around $10k, bottom spec, but still. Average discount was 5-6k.

    • Thanks very much for this update.
