Since yesterday I've been getting Google ads that take up over half the screen, making it very difficult to browse offers. They stay there when scrolling. To get rid of them it takes about 20 seconds if clicking. It's more intrusive than any other website I've ever used. How do I get rid of them?
Google Ads - Seriously Intrusive since Yesterday

If you're a member you shouldn't get ads unless you've chosen to in your settings. Though it is good for some members to choose to have ads so they're tested I guess
Do you remember what these ads were for?
Full screen ads that break the browsing experience on Ozb are generally unwanted, let us know when you see them and what sort of site they link to (when you either mouse over or click on them)
Thanks. I'll take a screenshot and send it through next time it happens. It happened several times today.
I've been getting lots of Landcom, Hillceoft/Newbrook ads that take up more than half my phone screen. Started around the beginning of March.
Please report them by providing the landing page, i.e. where the ads go to, so it would be easier for us to report that to the upstream provider.
Use brave. No ads and free BAT.
I haven't seen any large ads like that on OzB. Could there be something on your computer hijacking displayed ads?
Safari browser?
DNS66
I had an half page Google Ad on my Chrome mobile browser today. Can't remember what it was though…
Hint to Google, make ads bigger so they are more memorable lol
Hmm, is it Google who decides the size of ads (or whether or not they're allowed to expand and cover the screen), or the website designer?
Publift handles all of our ads so whenever someone complains about intrusive ads we collect the information and send it up to publift to have them remove the offending ads.
is it Google … or the website designer?
Website designer reserves fixed size spaces for the ads, tells the upstream ad providers about requested size, and then the upstream ad providers should provide the ads for that size.
However every now and then some ads of different sizes got sent back, and we'll have to figure out where they came from, so we can tell the upstream to get rid of it. That's why it is always helpful to send us a screenshot so we can have something to report back.
Also note that there are multiple "up stream ad providers" and not limited to Google.
Ahh, right. I don't know anything about web design, I'm just surprised ads can spill out of their predetermined boxes.
FWIW I still haven't seen any ads like that here so far.
you should be able to turn off ads in your account settings
Yep just happened to me, taking the entire screen of my Z Fold!
Johnny Walker Black ad…There is a little blue triangle in the corner of Google ads. Clicking it will let you report bad ads.
These type of ads are against Google's policy.
I reported multiple times to Google about the Dick Smith "sponsored" get rich quick scheme advertisements, still kept receiving them :P
Here is a photo of an ad combination that takes up the whole screen.
Chrome on Android.
The top ad is a scroll through and not too bad.
The bottom ad remains in a window until you click on a deal or a post and is a pain in the arse.
Thanks. Reported to upstream.
That is exactly what was happening to me to. I've not seen it today yet.
Just now got Landcom Newbrook advertisement, half page on my mobile Crome browser.
Here is another page that takes up 50% of space all the time and cannot remove.
This may help. It works on IOS, droid and windows.

Delivered via Google Ads.
I got the ad again just now. What's the best way to post a screenshot?
You're still fighting unwanted ads after four days. Is there a reason why you don't want to use Brave or an ad blocker?
Maybe he wants to support the websites he uses.

@whooah1979: No, he's clearly trying to get the ads back to normal.
pfBlockerNG, Pi-hole, etc. take your pick. Otherwise just install uBlock Origin's extension into your browser (assuming you're running Firefox, Chrome or the newer MS Edge.
