  • Waiting for the usual comments saying this is overpriced by comparing to Woolies/Coles/boganville prices.

Quality meat around where I live is horrendously expensive and don't mind paying a fair price for fresh meat delivered to my door.

Thats completely fine if you've personally received this meat and personally compared it to nearby butchers and supermarkets to say its actually worth the money.

People generally don't do this, or just assume that fancy words, names and prices mean its quality.

The fact is that many butchers are not very good quality, often lower or the same as supermarkets, especially when comparing price.

The other fact is that a lot of these online butchers are not worth the price, and its not really clear which online butchers are worth it when comparing it to local butchers.

I live bayside melbourne. between St Kilda, South Melbourne, South Bank it gets no cheaper from a demographic, but meat at the South Melbourne and Prahran market is cheaper than this and they sell all the way to origin on the price tag, organics, etc …..theres a few prime cuts and the rest is mince, etc.

    • I've also said it before - don't call this quality meat when it's shit compared to this - http://www.mayurastation.com/

This is more like an ad than actual value.

      • I have no idea what the quality of the Suttons meat is like, but saying it's not as good as Wagyu costing 10x as much is meaningless.

  • $18 Delivery to Eastern Melbourne. Any codes or discount for this ? Would love to try this pack.

    • The amount of ice packs and packing that goes into these to ensure they ship well, not to mention the delivery itself then $18 is quite cheap.

  • I've ordered from these guys several times, meat has always been good.

I dont even know where to start with this one. Really struggling to see the apparent savings let alone how this would be worth $217 at rrp.

Will just let the history do the talking

    This is a bargain?

  • +6

coz I had nothing better to do… all the prices can have ~10% variation due to size difference
All but 2 items are from Coles (woolies are the other 2)
Prices used are for the items not on special

there is no deep research in this .. take it the way you want it…

    2 x 3-4 tip lamb rack 250g ( each rack cryovaced individually, min total weight 500g ) 16
    1 x 500g lamb mince 8
    2 x 250g succulent pork medallions 8
    1 x free range whole chicken ( can be butterflied ) 10
2 x 500g free range chicken thigh fillet ( can be swapped for breast or tenderloin ) 9
    1 x 500g premium lean beef mince 9
    1 x 500g naturally smoked rindless bacon ( can be packed 2 x 250g or swapped for 400g sliced leg ham ) 8
    1 x 500g stir fry beef 11
    6 x lamb cutlets 12
    2 x 150g eye fillet steaks 17
    1 x 500g diced pork fillets 11
    2 x 250g rump steaks 14
    1 x 500g chicken breast strips  10

    $143

    p.s.
agree with the above statement … just because its from the butcher - it doesn't make it better.

    • 12 bucks for 6 lamb cutlets?

      • It's $32 for 12 https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/coles-lamb-cutl…
so $16 for 6 would make sense, ok it's $4 more.

which would bring the estimate in line with the OP's price…
So, it still stands, not really a deal, and you're not stuck with a freezer full of meat.

          https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/coles-lamb-cutl… - 13.44 for 8

keep in mind Aldi and Cosco in generally even cheaper - and I cant fault their quality on fresh meat products

        • problem is the pack is also full of chicken and mince and lesser items, it's not just lamb cutlets …..if you go to coles you can get just the lamb cutlets and pass the mince and stuff …..

    • Have been pushing the same rhetoric with every other deal they've posted. I just don't see how buying in bulk for the same price as your local supermarket/butcher benefits anyone except your freezer's energy provider.

The history speaks volumes and the OP is really starting to push their Ozbargain membership.

      • +1

and they add mince and stuff to try and bulk it up as the bulk of the packs isn't the prime cuts…. better value just buy qty you need and the cuts you want …..

with these meat deals it's just the same posting week after week ….. yet to see the killer deal.

this reminds me of Kathmandu rrp prices and the the "big discount spiel" or the house rrp price of their knives and "big discount"
