I noticed the Explorer card has gone down in bonus points earlier this year from 120k to a measly 50k. I believe these offers often follow a certain pattern (low month, high month / seasonality) - has anyone kept an eye on this over the past 12 months who would have an educated guess when Explorer bonus points could go up again?

Yes, so if cards are on a cycle, I'd like to understand what the offers have been in the past 12 months. Not sure if I agree with the comparison to a 1st year fee-free black card - that seems to be a thing of the past. I was merely wondering if anyone has been keeping an eye on what the Explorer has been on for the past 12 months.
the business Explorer has 110k on offer and fee is only $149 which i get waived.
Generally all cards are on a cycle, however you'd need a crystal ball to understand what's coming up. There's no real trend, it's a combination of market conditions and how desperate the CC companies are to sign people up.
People have been waiting years for a repeat of the $0 ANZ black card which hasn't popped up for a while now, whereas the platinum has been $0 multiple times in the last year.
