Whats Kogan Mobile Like?

Im currently with Telstra on a sim only plan $45 a month with $40GB data

However i now have a work mobile and im free to do whatever I want with it (unlimited data) on the telstra network

I still want to keep my own number but looking for a cheaper plan and $45 a month is a waste of money to me. I saw the Kogan mobile 365 day $135 120GB unlimited calls/text plan but wondered what they are like. I barely make any calls phone is mainly for data and text messages.

Or is there any cheaper plans out there. Im after unlimited calls/texts and a minimum 10GB data per month.

Cheers

    It's like Vodafone.

  • It’s 100 % the same as Vodafone.

Which IMO is pretty good these days.

I get great coverage, good data speeds, great price. Hard to knock it really.

Same data allowance, but Optus coverage. Do your own research on the network coverage in the areas you frequent. It isn't necessarily Telstra > Optus > Vodafone for all of Australia.

Combine with cashback for an extra 3.5% off. https://www.cashrewards.com.au/catch-connect

If you have access to unidays discount codes, you can get an extra 10% off (even more if you stack this with discounted Catch gift cards). https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/608023

Coles Mobile also frequently put their 120GB yearly plan on sale for $120 and that includes international calls.

Thanks but i dont want to use Optus as i had issues with them many years ago.

Likewise - Optus is terrible in my area whereas Kogan/Vodafone is great.

  • You can try them out for a $14.90 for 3 months with this deal.

Had it for 3 years or so, never a problem

  • Catch Connect (Optus) had a deal $120 12 mths 120GB. Not sure if it is still going.
Voda is good in built up areas but Optus has a better coverage in outlying areas.
Ooops… just saw no optus comment.. :-(

We have used Kogan mobile now for over three years, along with other family members.

Never had a problem, happy camper, has to be one of the best kept secrets, we’re in Perth.

  • Very happy, especially the yearly prepaid ones.
It's cheaper, and then you only have to think about billing once a year.

  • I used to be all for Vodafone/Kogan but unfortunately their network is no longer up to standard. Changed back when porting between Boost and had 1 month of pretty average connection quality and slower speed. (it used to be faster than boost, albeit with lower connection quality when regional.

I'd transfer to boost if on sale
    else.

  • UPDATE - I have chosen Boost Mobile as I want Telstra coverage.
