Domestic air fares (Bris <--> Syd) in February

Hi all.

Anyone know of any cheap (>$79) fares from Brisbane to Sydney and return? I'm looking at going in February and Jetstar still has their Wish Upon a Jetstar sale ad on their site ($59) but it ended the other day. All other cheaper flights are later in the year.

Not sure if there'll be any fares cheaper at any point between now and then or if I should bite the bullet and get the Jetstar $79 + fees tickets now. There are some that are $89, $99, $131 etc for the week.

I've checked Adioso and cheapest I can find through Jetstar is $69 (but the return date is $109), through Virgin is $85 and through Qantas is $95. Virgin and Qantas are on sale…but I'd thought domestic prices had gone down a fair bit in recent years..

I guess I'm hoping that someone may be able to remember this time last year and whether there were any sales for earlier in the year (rather than April/June) or whether I've missed the boat on cheaper fares.

    I would say wait. Even at 4pm today jetstar have their usual friday sale, chances are they will have the same deal you saw previously ($59).

    Dont forget you can book one way tickets on all airlines

    Then mix and match eg using your flight prices

    Jetstar at $69 over and fly back Virgin at $85 total = $154

    Vs just Jetstar/Jetstar 69 +109 = 187
    Or Virgin/Virgin $85 +85 = $170

    Thats the nice thing about domestic flights, ability to get lowest flight per sector, vs OS where one way tickets arent cheap and you really need to fly R/T to get the deals

      Virgin's return flight is at a more convenient time. I'm just hoping they don't both drop in price the day after I buy them!

    I flew Tiger on this route last year like 10 times for $28 each way…

      Oh, I hadn't realised they'd flown this route. They don't anymore :(
