Not as cheap as the previous deal; however, it is still a reasonable price for an automatic watch.

Just did. Thanks WatchNerd.
They are basically Citizen Eco-Drive watches in a cheaper resin case. They remind me of Swatch watches but better because they are solar powered & have standard lugs so you can change the strap easily. Review here.
I've got one SmileSolar at ~$50, it has resin case that might look like a toy but works awesomely. Solar powered means no more battery changing, no more water leakage (the case is plastic so somewhat a bonus in terms of water-proofing). Highly recommend to anyone valuing low-maintenance, accurate, budget watch, especially at this price IMO.
Solar is hopeless if you don't wear the watch all the time.
Never had a problem with mine, just don't store it in the dark.
I have a seiko, not in the dark but in a office for weeks sometimes.

When you are not wearing it, just hang it off a tree limb in your garden…
The other advantage of that is, if your house gets broken into, they won't think to look up the tree…
We keep all our watches on tree limbs.
Do you happen to live in a treehouse?
Sttt…JV is the Tarzan…. Don't tell anyone!
@CyberMurning: There is a strong rumour he is actually Jane.
I had the same issue but I bought a watch winder with a glass top and the natural day light kept the watch charged.
where do you get that?

Mine is a timber finish version of this
@maverickjohn: Thanks but the watch only cost me $450 7 years ago lol, might have to leave it on a window sill or wear it more, mainly use a Apple Watch these days.
Wasn't a problem when i only used it.

That's the one I have.
If you have a few watches it helps. You can get a smaller one I just have the 6 plus 7 as I have a few watches
@maverickjohn: BTW, is that your collection? 😎
@Jav: Lol yep. That's my collection
@maverickjohn: Mate! “Only renting? Insure what matters!”
@Jav: I've been blessed to have a wife who supports my hobby. Working my way to a Rolex and Vacheron. My retirement plan lol
@maverickjohn: The Michael Hill seems very random in there with a GS. I'm assuming it was a gift or a very early purchase before you went down the rabbit hole.
@ilikeit: I've got rid of many watches but that was my wedding gift from my wife and yes much before I went down the rabbit hole
Not sure if you're joking. The Citizen solar system works just fine off indoor lighting too.
nope, sits in my home office and i don't use lights, day only use and lights are rarely needed.
It depends how bright. One of mine sits in a not very bright corner when I'm not wearing it and it sometimes guess flat. I have a lot of watches and go through phases.
If by all the time you mean once every 3 months or so. If you had a regular quartz and wore it that infrequently then you'd need to change the battery every after 8 wears.
The Q & Q Solar watches for $30.00 delivered in the moving sale are a good deal too.
You should add them to the title.
