LG. Made in Indonesia or Korea.

    That wasn't hard.

    • GT. Must fly!

    • I also have an LG which was made in Indonesia. However the motor-compressor unit (the most expensive component) has a label which says Made in China

      • Every Not-Made in China product has Made in China components. It's the way the world is.

Hitachi made in Thailand (cheaper models) or Japan (expensive ones).

  • Samsung refrigerators are made in South Korea, Germany, China, Hungary, South Africa, Luxemburg, Sweden, and India.

    According to Google, that is.

This page seems to have a bit of info: https://www.canstarblue.com.au/appliances/appliance-country-…

    • That's doesn't mean it's made in originated country. Then again parts of every appliances made in different country, just as cars.

      • If you click on any of the companies, it gives you a bit more information. For example:

LG’s primary production vendor for fridges and washers is stated to be in the Indian sub-continent.

Samsung’s Washer Dryer combos and fridges are said to be manufactured in South Korea.

Sharp: Some of its microwave ovens and fridges are said to be manufactured in Thailand and China.

Westinghouse: While some products are stated to be manufactured in Australia, including its ovens, others are imported from Europe, China and South-East Asia. In particular, some fridges are claimed to be from Thailand and some dishwashers from Turkey.

        • That information is quite vague to the point of being unhelpful. For example Westinghouse hasn't made fridges in Australia since 2016.

Last Australian-made fridge is end of the line for regional manufacturer

The OP can probably find the actual country of manufacture for the specific models they are looking at from the brand's website, sellers website or from a label on the fridge if shopping in store. That was the case for me when I bought a fridge last year.

          • @trongy: The link literally does not claim that Westinghouse fridges are made in Australia. Only “some products”, including ovens.

Of course if this is important to people they need to do their own research. But this was what OP asked without doing their own research, and I got this from a simple google search.

  • Electrolux made in Australia, not sure if it's still tho

    • Using parts made in Asia.

Electrolux stopped making fridges in Australia in 2015/2016 when they closed their fridge factory in Orange (NSW).

  • Bosch

This is only the case for the dearer models.

The cheaper models are/were made in Thailand.

    • Yes. I see some good reviews on them.
      Thanks

Can second this, brilliant design and functionality plus very well made.

Other one to consider is liebherr but they are a premium brand and as such very costly.

Liebherr Fridge - designed and manufactured in Germany
If they can make an 800 tonne excavator they sure as hell can make a 500 litre fridge.

Pretty much my dream fridge. (if you ever could have one).

Without having looked it up or knowing anything about it beyond your comment. I'm going to take a wild wild guess that their fridge costs upward of an arm and a leg.

      • Turns out they cost an arm and a leg and fail quite often.
        Maybe not

Hyundai makes ships. If they can make a 230000 GT container ship then they sure as hell can make the world's best 500 litre fridge.

Just because someone can make something big doesn't automatically make them an expert in making something smaller.

        I'm a simple man
I see overpriced fridges made by a crane company
        I buy

    • I found a site which has cosmetic imperfections on Liebherr fridges, excellent savings. Will investigate further.

  • ie: Fisher and Paykel

Dont you mean e.g. (rather than i.e.) F&P or are you singling them out specifically for some reason?

  • Miele -made in Germany
