Porting out of Boost and Back on a New Starter Pack

My boost $300 plan is expiring and i have a new boost starter pack.

Are there any free sims/providers i can port to for a few hours and then port back to the Boost starter pack?

Is porting out for a few hours enough or do i need to leave it for at least 1 day?

I thought you could previously port to optus sim and not pay for any prepaid plans, and then port out but that doesnt seem to be the case and i have to at least spend $10 minimum with them.

On the optus activate/port page, it asks for your current provider. Do you select telstra (since its on their network) or other? Other options are optus, voda, amaysim.

    Someone said "enter the wrong card number a few times and it'll be activated".

    you can just talk to them in the live chat and they will do it without porting out

      Tried that. They didnt want to. Maybe just unlucky with my assistant

          My agent told me to grab 2 new boost sims and they can then reactivate my boost services with my existing numbers.
          Went to Coles bought 2 x $2 boost sims called back and they activated me on the new plans with the extra data on the new sims. I didn’t have to port out.
          Very impressed how easy it was.
