I dont have prime so I'd have to pay shipping fees, but yeah Mido is underrated and makes good quality pieces, no-brainer at this price
Join prime for a month and you'd pay less than the shipping cost
Also 6% cashback! Awesome!
what’s the difference between this and Casio, citizen?
In my opinion, if the brand is not well known enough, I will just get the cheap but good quality one.
Mido should be at the same level to Tissot, for the similar price, why wouldn’t you get a Tissot?
I just don’t get it.
Its Swiss made. Its like asking why someone would buy an Audi or VW.
Mido was never suppose to sell here, like Certina, another Swatch brand.
Tissot is IMO the bottom of the barrel Swatch brand. I think Mido is more mid level but I dont like any of their designs. I like Certina more.
I buy watch brands that I like. I like Orient. Few people do.
I would buy Certina but not Mido or Tissot or Hamilton even though they are all Swatch brands.
Mido is a great brand just not well known here. Personally I don't like their watches and have never bought it, but I did buy a Tissot. In part I agree with you that you might as well buy a Tissot but it's not to dismiss this brand. Its just not for me.
Heard this name for the first time. Looks like a quality watch
Just buy smart watch, mechanism watch outdated
A mechanical watch will outlast your life time, where a smart watch needs to be recharged every night and will lucky to last you 5 years before it gets bogged down like smart phones do. I know which one I’d rather have.
I recently inherited a Tudor (Rolex) from my late father. I don't recall ever seeing him wear it, he might have inherited it from my grandfather, or might have just never worn it. Either way, this is a watch which was made in 1960 and has probably never been serviced. I bought a new crystal for it (~$30) and a new band and it's working fine. It's not the most accurate watch, but that could be that it's over 60 years old and hasn't been serviced in at least 40 years - if ever. Sure, I could just wear a $20 casio (and I do sometimes) but I like the novelty of this complex mechanical item which still works perfectly after 60 years of neglect.
This website is OzBargain, not OzShareYourTerribleOpinion, and I'm not hating on smartwatches, heck I have a gw1 46mm myself
Before buying, perhaps check the model of ETA movement to determine its performance. There is variation in quality depending on price points within the Swatch group. Servicing costs are also another consideration given some Swatch group watch brands require complete replacement of movemens by Swatch service centres at considable cost.
It's a modified not stock eta, can't remember what movement exactly though, will come back with an answer when I have time
Most likely a 2836
2836-2 replacement cost around US$ 250-300 shipped. Almost same price as the watch. Buyer beware.
Theyre reliable watches, theyll last a long time. You can also go to a 3rd party watchmaker, I know a guy who literally saved $700 fixing his speedy
$586.22 now, looks a cracking buy
