Hi , looking for a tablet/chromebook/flipbook some very light emailing ,sending pdfs browsing,streaming tv/movies and possibly old skool games such as age of empires /command and conquer. Using it for commuting and spare time whilst on fifo
Prefer ( streaming over the gaming) would be something that I can watch free tv / movie apps such as cinema hd etc over paying for netflix ,stan etc
Never had an apple product and concerned they're quite restrictive with content and apps ?
Budget under $1000 ,lesser the better really and something that could keep going for a few years.

Apple: best but expensive
(some devices can jailbreak, so there's a bit more freedom)
Samsung: worse, but good
(more freedom, some devices can root…maybe)
Xiaomi: cheap and decent
(more community support for root etc)
Other Android: more expensive and not good
(not enough buyers/interest for rooting etc etc)
….Also it really depends on which Applications you want, which screen size, overall budget, and amount of internal hardware you desire.
