  • Are there NFC versions of these ?

    • +2

      Yes jv.

You open the oven and stick your head in to sense the temperature.

      Try it.

      • I don't carry my phone on my head…

        Do you?

  • Is there anything like this that is wifi and can be read remotely via phone app ?

Alot of them say wireless with the wifi symbol, but are local wifi only

      • Is the IBBQ-4T local Wi-Fi only (as in my phone has to be connected to the same wi-fi network) or can I access the temperatures when Im away and not on my local house wifi ?

Seems like a silly question but you have another product that I nearly bought until I realised it was local wi-fi only.

        • Yes, don't need to be on same Wi-Fi.

You can access your temps when you are in the pub and have your missus adjust the vents :D

One thing to note, it's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only.

Setup can be a bit hit-and-miss as far as app goes.

  • Please do a deal on the IBBQ-4T

  • Any idea if you can save a cook in the app? Or even export the data to CSV?

    • +3

You can export to csv, but only while the unit is still on. As soon as you power the unit off, all your cloud data is gone. To my mind, quite a big drawback - I want to be able to access my previous cooks. And we're talking piddly amounts of data to store. Would be my number 2 feature request.

      • Cheers for that. I was considering trying this with my coffee roaster setup to monitor bean temps but looks like I'll probably go a tried and tested method.
