    any recommends?

      Anyone except Fiona O'Loughlin

      • Boomer humour.

        • +4

          What's with kids?…amiright cue laughter

    • +9

Out of the $24 list, safe bets are: Wil Anderson, Tom Gleeson, Fiona O'Loughlin, Tommy Little, Nick Cody and Mel Buttle.

If you're looking for something different than traditional stand-up, or more obscure laughs, I'd recommend: Aaron Chen, Stuart Dualman and Nina Oyama

Comedy is super subjective though, so when I say safe bets, I just mean people who are widely popular and normally sell out. I don't particularly enjoy some of them myself, but know plenty of people who do.

      • +2

I booked Aaron Chen this year.. he looks hilarious, especially from what I've seen so far

      • +2

looked at a random Tommy Little youtube clip and he seems a solid step below the others (well at least Gleeson and Cody)

    • Luke Heggie
      Amos Gill
      Daniel Sloss

      Heggie is a genius.

    • Speaking of Comedy… Yes, I recommend these 3:

1 app "Dry Bay comedy" you pick from pages of ~1hr gigs (Free,
but you can optionally show your love of any act - either by
pressing a button every time you really laughed at a joke OR
by leaving Real Money for the Comedian)

A couple of shows from CBC Radio:

2 "Laugh Out Loud" recorded gigs (audio only, unlike Dry Bar's, incl'd video)

3 "The Debaters" 2 comedians debate an issue (eg, Which is better Dog or Cat?)
Points for good Arguments or Funny)

Enjoy, between trips to Live gigs.

  • Is there a list of which shows have the $24 tickets available, or do you have to click on a show to see?

Edit: Looks like I triggered a Fiona fan.

      • +1

No, that is the full list of shows. Not many I clicked on have $24 tickets available.

        • exactly

        • +2

Unfortunately, it IS the full list of shows doing $24 for 24, however they do not make it clear which days and times, as it is selected days and times only - not every show by these comedians. Its definitely not a full list of every show at the festival, as several shows I plan to see are not on there.
You can only really tell once you go to book a ticket if it's got the $24 price tag.

Thanks Mate. Lloyd Langford is very funny, looks the pick of those.

  • Is anyone able to get more than one ticket at the discounted price (eg: when booking for 2+ if defaults to one full, one discount).

Seems you cant choose your seats … all good if you click on the default seating options

    • I was able to add 2 of the $24 tickets fine. Maybe there is only 1 left for that show?

  • -3

Only act I recognised was The Umbilical Brothers but they are as boring as ~^ .

    • +9

I'd say that's more of a you problem that a lineup problem. Heaps of famous comedians in the list available.

  • +1

It looks like there are more shows available @ $24 than the list above that zallikk kindly provided (at least at 2.45pm AEST). You have to click through to the ticketmaster/ticketek etc. booking page to see if they have tickets available for the show you want on the night for $24.

I have just booked Arj Barker, Tom Gleeson, Ivan Aristeguieta and Lloyd Langford, all at $24. Was hoping for Jason Byrne and Rich Hall, but will have to wait for 2022+ to see them.

  • +1

Ross Noble definitely pick of the bunch for me. Personally I find most of the rest to be hacks.

  • +1

get in quick while the border's open

  • no free tickets ?

    • usually later and closer to the dates

  • +1

    It's a shame Dan Andrews isn't performing.

  • -7

    Wouldn't bother booking.

Well have another lockdown because someone coughed and the event will be cancelled.

  • Prices range ~$40-50 without discount

  • +1

Lloyd Langford and Jeff Green for me.

  • +1

oh man, where is Rhys Nicholson????
